Queen Cleopatra recently released on Netflix, and it has opened to horrible reviews to say the least. Currently it sits at 1 percent on rotten tomato’s audience reviews and only 13 percent from critics. But not only has Netflix’s Queen Cleopatra documentary annoyed audiences it has also angered Egyptians as they say that the documentary has rewritten their own history and destroyed it. And as a response to this the actress who played Cleopatra Adele James, has called critics and Egyptian people fundamentally racist.

Thanks for putting this information out there. Recently there’s been a movement of people trying to say that Egyptians were sub Saharan Africans. Although there were some sub Saharan Africans in Egypt and the kushites were sub Saharan Africans, that doesn’t mean they made up the majority of the population. Egypt traded with the Greeks, Croatians, and other people, so there were some white people there, but a majority of the population had tan skin. Saying that Egyptians were black because they’re in Africa is like saying Saudi Arabians are Asian because they’re in Asia.
People nowadays think to end racism we have to make huge radical changes. It’s crazy.

As an Egyptian I really don't understand the mindset of these people. Rewriting our history and calling us racist for calling them out is just extremely idiotic. On top that , their only "proof" about Cleopatra being black is a grandma feeding her granddaughter a big lump of BS. The British actress' mindset also just makes my blood boil. I also feel it is extremely ignorant and stupid that actress to just say that we are all racists and don't understand modern racism as if we are just a bunch of ignorants.
