Vinland Saga Season 2 really went out with a bang

Vinland saga is far better than oshi no ko. Not in popularity, but story wise and animation, vinland saga blatantly surpasses it
my man, dont show clips of the last episode!…. all in all good take, people just like to talk about the popular thing and overlook other just because they want to be part of the conversation
I don't think the word overshadowed is what put many people off on your post. If Vinland Saga was overshadowed, it should have been talked about less within the community while in fact the anime community specifically the VS community hit its peak especially with the fandom split into two. Nevertheless, I do not think Oshi no Ko overshadowed Vinland Saga, but it is more popular.
from this season the best were mashle, oshi no ko and hells paradise, i dropped heavenly delusion very fast and i didnt watch vinland saga i already know whats happening i read the manga but many anime where good this season like konosuba, pokemon (the ep i watched where ok) and demon slayer wich as usual had top tier animationn
Vinland saga is my fav anime of all along with aot..i am watching ds and Vinland but because of storyline and thorffin..it changed my life man !! Really its so beautiful!

Vinland Saga is the only anime I know of that has managed to couple stellar story telling with mind blowing animation. In all the other cases, it is a trade off. Demon Slayer trades off arguably the best overall animation overall for a sub-par plot. One Piece trades it off for pacing. AOT keeps adding more seasons to its "final" season.
IMO, Vinland Saga should have made as big a wave as AOT had in 2013. But, it did not. Even Demon Slayer and JJK made a bigger splash than VS did. I finally see a change happening where more and more people are getting to know and appreciate this masterpiece for what it is. Ironically, there are two extreme camps. One, which includes you and me, that say that season 2 surpassed season 1, as good as season 1 was. And there is the opposite camp that compare VS season 2 to season 2 of Promised Neverland and Tokyo Ghoul.
No real surpirse Vinland Saga Season 2 was less popular. Show should have ended after season 1. From epic viking vengence filled adventure to slice-of-viking-life farming bs. Pivot is just too strong – for many people – me included. This whole season Thorfinn looked like whiny litte bit**.
Farmland saga is riding on season 1 popularity – otherwise – it would be just pretty mid show, often slow and badly paced.
As for quality of season 2 – I sense lotts of frickin COPIUM. Anyone with eyes can see that it declined significantly from first season. I haven’t seen production values – but those were most likely way worse. It shows – in comparison to Vinland Season 1 – season 2 has worse ost, worse op/ed, worse animation, some smelly cgi – and combat – for how little combat there is in this farmland hellhole – combat in season 2 has nothing on season 1.
I remember waiting for every new episode of season 1 with bated breath, season 2 I binged in three days and was pretty bored.
TL;DR – season 2 VS is mid af.

It's a shame a series like Vinland Saga S2 will never get super popular like Oshi no Ko. Vinland Saga S2 really taught me some heavy stuff (stuff I can relate to my life). The themes this show has are done so insanely well alongside the insane character development our main character Thorfinn had in S2. Also I think what made me adore S2 more then S1 is the message of the author trying to portray the message of being against unjust violence in one of mankind's most violent cultures, time period and setting. And he was successful in getting that message across to us. Thanks Chibi for giving light to how incredible Vinland Saga really is.

Im not going to lie watching Vinland Saga has changed me into a better person,it came at the right time in my life when i needed to hear that message the most…I love this series ❤🎉❤

So I watched the final episode and overall my opinion on this season is mixed. I just want to say, I really hate the lack of empathy a lot of Vinland Saga fans have had towards people who didn't like this season.
I get it, its annoying seeing your average anime watcher not know the difference between "this isn't for me vs this is bad" and not being able to appreciate good writing over cool action (ie, your typical Demon Slayer stan). That being said, season 2 is SUCH a big change from season 1, that even as someone who loves character development, exploring deep themes, ect, I still felt somewhat alienated by season 2 in the early half. I think finding this season overall very slow, is a perfectly valid take imo.
Don't get me wrong, I agree the character development was great (a praise while valid, is being a bit over used as a all around defence against any negative opinions) and season 2 had some amazing stand out moments, if not entire episodes, but rarely was I actively looking forward for new episodes to come out and still think this story could have a been told at a slightly faster pace. I enjoyed season 1 more overall, but don't regret watching season 2 at all.

I read this manga from start to finish the day I found it, didn't know there was an anime watched all that was out (only season 1 at the time) after reading it and this arc was one of the main things I wanted to see animated the story telling the character development were all top tier and is what made me put it up there with Vagabond and Berserk truly beautiful good video.
The last episode was fantastic. I got a little emotional when Thorfin met his mother. Wholesome episode
I watch Vinland every Monday while I’m at work but I can’t convince anyone to give it a try so I have no one to discuss it with besides the feral humans in the YouTube comment section
I'm an anime only. The story went in a completely different direction compared to S1. The story, the artwork, the audio sounds as well as the voice acting and the animation has all been amazingly beautiful "You have no enemy " such a profound statement that will stick with me forever
This is the first time since like 2020 that I really dug into keeping up with a lot of the seasonal anime. As a longtime Vinland Saga fan, I cannot express how awesome this season was. Oshi no Ko is another one I kept up with, same with Heavenly Delusion and I think that all of those are amazing in their own way. Vinland Saga is definitely my top manga, but Oshi no Ko kept me engaged the entire time and has been a wonderful watch. But I definitely think I enjoy each of them for their own unique story they tell.
although i think vinland saga is easily the absolute BEST anime of this year. i will not be mad if oshi no ko gets anime of the year

Like this story is truly sensational in its themes of redemption, growth, resilience, overcoming trauma, forgiveness, class dynamics, found family, and nuance between those themes. And then the utilization of narrative tools used to display those themes and the characters development, its just absolutely masterful
I totally agree Vinland Saga is my favorite story of all time but Oshi no Ko is very good too.
