I can’t believe I have to say goodbye to Vinland Saga with this video. Hopefully just for now though. This was the most beautiful way to end off the season with Thorfinn returning home at last and reuniting with his family. It got me so emotional, I’m so happy for him. Seeing him breakdown like that and apologise to them, my hearttt! Ylva was hilarious though, she hasn’t changed haha. And I was also so happy for Leif for finally being able to keep his word to Thors and bring Thorfinn home. That moment when Thorfinn saw Thors!!! And then ending with Einar, Thorfinn and Leif heading off on their journey to create Vinland. I need a season 3 so bad! This season was unforgettable, Vinland Saga truly is a masterpiece.

What a beautiful way to end off the season, I couldn't have asked for a better finale. I'm so sad to say goodbye but hopefully it's just for now and we get a season 3 (it's been hinted at soooo !!) Vinland Saga is truly a masterpiece. Thank you to everyone who joined me on this incredible journey, getting to share this experience with you, especially through the comments, has been the absolute best. I hope we can get together again for season 3 but until then I hope you'll stick around and I see you about at other videos 🩷

Vinland Saga is such an experience. I love it. Thorfinn have grown to become a character you really grown to love. His development from a kid wrapped up in vioelence and revenge, to a man committed to creating a haven for ppl who wants peaceful living. It is so amazing.
Man's truly gonna make his own exodus. His own Hijra, for people who wants to escape violence.
Read the manga, Mai. It's worth it, and the manga is so good. It's funny, too. You'd be surprised how much comedy the author managed to squeeze in the manga.
And about the new cut: In the manga it's EVEN BETTER. The one cutting the hair was Ylva herself. Ylva wanted to remove the beard but Thorfinn initially rejected the haircut and he totally wanted to keep the beard on, because he said "The beard is essential for a man!"
So Ylva cut the beard when he was asleep. Ylva also gave him a clean bowl cut similar to when he was six years old, but Thorfinn hated it and changed it himself to look like the one you see now.
But the best part is: Ylva finally acknowledged who Thorfinn is while cutting his hair. She said "You really are little Thorfinn aren't you. This shape of your head, it's definitely you."
The haircut moment is actually a wholesome moment I was looking forward to seeing it animated.

What a beautiful reunion.. So nice to see Helga see her son again after all these years of her thinking he is probably dead. Seeing her welcome Einar as her own son got me emotional.
Ylva's reaction is also very realistic. She gave up after all these years, and accepting that Thorfinn is dead. All of a sudden, a stranger shows up and says he's your long dead brother. It had to be Helga that recognizes Thorfinn. Mothers are just built like that haha.
Leif is genuinely an incredible man. Devoted his life to find and get Thorfinn back, didn't give up after years and years, and finally achieved his goal. And now he's down to help Thorfinn achieve his goal. What more can you ask from this man?
I'm gonna miss this anime so bad.

I actually felt much happier for Leif, he finally brought him back home.
I just realized that Thorfinn had a bit of Askeladd (beard) & Thors (ponytail), but him cutting/shaving might symbolize his growth… A step towards becoming his own man.

I really like the last sequence of scenes from this episode.
Not only do we see Thorfinn finally reach Thors and stand side-by-side with his father, but we see a younger Helga, Leif, and Askeladd prepare to go on the journeys that defined their adulthoods, which leads into Thorfinn preparing to go on his own iconic journey.
As much as Im going to miss Snake, S3 promises new characters, new adventures, and new challenges.
Thinking back on it, Canute was kind of right in Ep. 23, his kingdom (England) did keep on expanding and eventually reached Vinland (North America).
Best anime of the season!!
Thorfinn going from a murderer hell bent on revenge, to becoming this Viking Jesus figure has to be one of the best arcs I've seen in anime/manga history.
So well done.

This episode was just phenomenal. How everything ended where it started (and it's not even the real ending yet cause there's a tougher journey waiting for Thorfinn from here on out). Plus the whole episode just made me smile throughout for everyone in it. Just in overall incredible season despite some flaws.
– Thorfinn's reunion with his mother was just beautiful. Thorfinn's VA killed it with his voice when he broke down crying.
– Leif finally at peace (and our man deserves it) after fulfilling the promise he made to Thorfinn's family that he will find him no matter how many years it took.
– That touching scene between Thorfinn and Ari (the young guy who really looked up to Thors and blamed himself for getting Thors killed by Askeladd's men).
– The hilarious reunion between Thorfinn and his sister (that killed me) but also the touching scene between them while they were looking their father's weapons chest.
– Einar being welcomed so warmly and getting approved by Thorfinn's mother as her own son. That was deep and our dude Einar deserves it.
– Bug Eye's best episode (this dude will shine even more in later seasons) where he showed his supportive side to Thorfinn. Plus he's a great comedian as well.
– The whole scene around the fire with everyone with Thorfinn telling the things he encountered in those last 16 years including how it changed it for the worst and for the better in the end.
– That scene by that slave's grave (who Thors saved at tbe begining of S1) with the beautiful aurora surrounding Thorfinn. Seeing how it played such an important role to Thorfinn's character here now just blew me away. Plus seeing Thorfinn with his dad in that vision overlooking Vinland was just incredibly beautiful.
– Lastly, the whole montage at the end of everyone with new characters who we'll see in S3 alongside Thorfinn's new appearance made me overjoyed on what's to come in the future.
yep that was askeladd, placing a daffodil on his mothers grave. daffodils are the national flower of wales. so much attention to detail went into this from the anime team because that wasnt in the manga
Epic season and something that pushed the manga beyond what it gives. S tier anime.
If you want more thorfin action, you can read the comics. If the anime keeps following, it could hit season 4 and with how it is currently going, it might even be 5? Its not clear where it ends yet.
I started watching vinland saga like a week and a half ago (and it got into my top 5) and now I'm fully caught up, time to binge some reactions haha
Thorfinn in a way has become the hero and the leader Askeladd wanted to create. Him along side Canute will build a world where askeladds mother would be able to live in. Them showing young Askeladd place a flower at his mothers grave really did show this.

It was so perfect at the end of the episode when they showed the beginning of each important characters journey towards their goal… and finish off with a camerashot of thorfinn , ready for his true adventure for his own goal.
