This show sucks. The CGI is too jarring and makes me feel like I’m watching a cartoon meant for my 13 year old nephew. The landscapes and setting feel so lifeless and unfinished. I understand there was more detail in charecter designs, but even those leave a whole lot to be desired. I’m out on this show and will just watch the reviews for content and out of curiosity to see how they decided to end the show. I have this a shot and I don’t care for it. The Oringal Manga and Madhouse Anime are goated to me so I’m happy with those.

The original anime only covered about 20 chapters of the manga and 65% of it was filler, there's a lot more left in the story of the manga and the way stampede is adapting it it will probably have more seasons, a lot of stuff have been chronologically shuffled around but honestly I think it works better this way compared to the manga. For context the july/jurai catastrophe happened before the first ep of trigun and we only learned about it through flashbacks in the original but now we seem to be getting to see it first hand so I expect a timeskip after this and the next season or the finale of this season will have Milly, Eric etc. Honestly considering the way the manga is supposed to go I think this adaption will be better than the old one once it concludes.

I guess this CG stuff is harder to anime than we thought if they are only doing so few Episodes. Would have been nice to have some more antics and character development.

I really liked Roberto a lot, and to me his death was a really impactful moment, that'll play a major role in Meryl's development.

I feel like most people never even tried to give this character a fair chance and to understand what kind of story is being told, because they are salty that Milly isn't around, when she obviously wasn't supposed to be around.

i wont trash on thise series but the original adaptation has so much heart put into it that is really hard to compare, all that filler does so much for the construction of the secondary characters and it really makes us care about them, honestly if we weigh the fidelity to the manga of this series against the characterization that the filler gave us in the first adaptation, this would be one of the few times where I would prefer less fidelity and better development

I was more upset with Meryl for not letting Roberto have a final drink

Trigun Stampede is honestly one the best this season.
9/10 episode this week
Plus manga readers and people who watched the original anime who played attention would know about the July city incident

I called it I called it. I knew they were trying to kill him off for Meryl character arc. They didn't give us enough characterization to care about Meryl and Roberto for their dynamic to hurt. I think they were trying to pull a Rengoku, but Roberto's character isn't as interesting.
Roberto gave me throw-away character vibes from EPISODE 1, and I was just waiting for him to die so they give room to BEST GIRL MILLIE.

Im really hooked on the show. I hope for a second season.

I kind of liked Roberto. While he's overly cynical and seems so jaded that he only cares about smoking and drinking, he's the one who tells Meryl that Vash is more than he seems and calls Vash out on running away from something (even before he knows about Knives). Roberto may have been largely a character used to introduce ideas or nudge Meryl's growth, but I think he was kinda good.

"It's too late (to bring Millie back)"
Not when we base it on all the hints that they've given us:
– Meryl being a rookie with no Milly under her wing.
– Roberto had the Deringer until he gave it to Meryl this episode.
– Vash bounty is not as high as it's supposed to be.
– The "July Incident" still not happened yet.

All those details pointed towards this being a pseudo-prequel of the Trigun story in general. So, not having Milly when Meryl is still a rookie who still needs to learn about the reality of the world (plenty of which she got from Roberto) makes perfect sense.

Elendira still needs to grow up into the crimson nail though.

Dude is clueless, can’t recall the original anime, doesn’t bring up the manga. Just plain criticizing everything.

Everyone here is comforting themselves saying this is a prequel to the manga. Uh sorry. This is going to end with season 1. Period. There are only 2 episodes left, and it's rrly hard to imagine this show ending on a high note with such a rushed story. The producers said this will end with season 1, and it's meant to be a standalone show with no tie to the manga story. I had so much hope for this series, but this is the end of the road :/

I don't know why you would feel terrible for not caring about Roberto's death. There's no reason to care for him.
