Vinland Saga S2 Episode 7 Reaction | KETIL! 😭😭

This episode alone shows what a weak and cowardly person Ketil is 😞

Ketil feels like a sane person trapped in an insane world. I was wondering what type of person would offer saves a deal to buy their own freedom.

Ketil is such an interesting character, because they are tricking us into liking him even if he's an slavemaster using slaves to grow his empire for they are cheaper than hiring free people.
Ketil was absolutely lying to them when saying 3 years because they had no horse or plows to use, and has no intention of freeing some slaves such as Arneir. (Her look of defeat because she's trapped consoling her slaver)
Also, the fact that he's a coward, If he was brave he could have just overpowered the words of all of them and said "No, we will not hit them as punishment, that's my decision"

But that's just my opinion on him. Maybe the next episodes will make me change my mind about him.

Now the question is how will ketil fair against this cruel world, i mean he is the leader here, so technically he should fight it, but as we are clearly seeing that is not proving to be easy on him…. This episode just reminded me of the journey the author makes us go through with these characthers in this arc. Store your current feelings about them in a box, reopen it once the season is done, you'll know what i'm talking about 🙃😉😁

It's refreshing to see that Ketil is actually a nice guy instead of another ,,He had a dark past, killing people, legend beating all his enemies". We had Thors who was a warrior but regret it and wanted to live as good person instead. We have Thorkiel who lives for being violent and actually gets joy from that and doesn't want to change. He is even mad at Kanute for trying to talk with enemies or using ways like poison. We had Askeladd who was forced into warrior life but was morally gray to point that he hated doing what he does but at the same time couldn't stop till the end. Now we have Ketil who is just spreading lies to protect himself because he is just a good guy who want to live happy, peaceful life and if possible give happy lives to others too. I really like that he doesn't have ,,Thor's backstory" but has his own spin about not using violence no matter what. Thors said ,,True warrior doesn't need a sword" Ketil could teach Thorfinn that nobody needs to be even any kind of warrior, just to be a person who doesn't need a sword to be happy.

I'm guessing he just has business sense. If he can get slaves he gets free farm expansion and eventually frees them to work as employees. What motivates him is the desire to be able to pay for protection to be able to avoid war. Plus, he won't get drafted because his farm's providing for the lord (who still needs money and food regardless of the situation).

He probably got raised by the old master and had a warm ish home life like Einar. Gets drafted and says, "this sort of thing isn't my bag, babay," after seeing how they were destroying the families of others. Growing up farming, he knew the time and effort it took to make something liveable and nice out of dirt and trees. Anywho, the writing is great and this season is really showing the author's character writing skills

Man, I remember when I used to think Ketil was a good person… Or well, not like he's completely evil but… Ketil is such a hard character for me to judge, because he did some despicable things to Ernheid, but he is still kind of a good man sometimes like in this episode… I don't fucking know

This whole family the two brothers and Ketil. Characters noteworthy of this season. The way Ketil character will become……..can’t wait. I can say that the season finally starts. In this very episode.
