People will argue about anything; in the end, the opening’s lyrics were written in cooperation with the manga’s author, and its spirit matches season two just as well as the first opening matched the tone of season one.
Both openings show a clear love for the source material in ways I can’t really talk about without drifting into spoiler territory.
Fun fact: Yuna’s marionettes are a goat (Yagi, Yuna’s surname) and a kingfisher (Sonidori), and I doubt it’s a coincidence that the color of her necklace pendant matches the coach’s eye color.
