Even though the author has said that it is not BL it is guess you could use the word 'coded' and I don't have a problem with that, and the way people react to him is extremely entertaining, best comparison i could make would be to Jinshi from apothecary diaries and just like him if Lizel ever leaned on it then he could probably take over the whole country.
