Just got done watching ep. 3 and yes it is violent

Holy shit, Junya Ikeda as a bad guy is super terrifying! and to think his roles in anime used to be the keets or good guys! His soft sadistic monotone is really creepy.
This episode put Knives on a whole other level. Vash stood no chance.
So what do you think about the ending
It looks like Tesla …she was in the manga and was born before Vash and Knives from the plants. But they(Rem included) just did horrible experiments on her until she died. The humans just treated her like nothing more than a piece of meat to run test on. When Vash and Knives find out… Vash chooses to forgive Rem where Knives hates her and humanity from that point on.
This was not in the anime and I hope its in this new version.
Bodies dropping left and right. It seems like Vash will get a new weapon since it seems like it’s not gonna work. The new lady character Elendira was a manga only character in Trigun maximum and some other characters were only in the manga or maybe they were in the old anime I haven’t seen. I think it helps knowing what the general story and characters are. While some miss Milly, the new characters are great. Knives is terrifying with his Knives and they didn’t at all hold back on violence. Crunchyroll has done content warnings for shows like platinum end, skeleton knight in another world among others. It’s hard for Rosa and the town to recover from something like that

This "gate" that Knives talks about is either a new thing or a new name for an old thing. I do not recall there ever being any Plant power called a "gate" before this.
Others in the comments have already said the girl is Elendira the Crimsonnail, but this version is quite different. In the manga Elendira was an adult male crossdresser or transwoman, the 13th and most powerful Gung-ho Gun(their weapon was a suitcase that fired giant nails) who was always trying to take Legato Bluesummers' place as Knives' right hand person.
This series is shaping up to be so damn good, differences and all.
They've said on the Japanese Trigun Stampede twitter that the girl is Elendira, and she is indeed a manga character who wasn't in the first anime– however, she has been so thoroughly redesigned / re-conceptualized that I don't think manga readers would recognize her without being told. I have theories, but I'm so curious what they're planning to do with her.

The thing is with the original Trigun anime, following a common trend at the time, when it was made it the source material of the manga didnt have much info on Knives. So they simply made due with what they have and made their own scenario. It was only until Trigun Maximum (the continuation series) Knives is more developed. The characters seen here are from Maximum.
And yes that is a girl. And what she is without going too spoilery: She is by technicality the same species as Vash and Knives. Just as old as them too. Sorta.
I'm just worried about the number of episodes, I wouldn't like it to be only 12-13 episodes because I think Trigun story is too grand for such a small number.
Skeleton Knight in another world had a content warning at the start of every episode because of the first episode. I'm pretty sure. Though I don't know if I've seen warning for blood and gore. I wasn't expecting this in Trigun.
No mystery, no funny moments, no sense of the Wild West, no innocence and glimpses of brilliance in Vash, no character development, the main antagonist is introduced 3 episodes in when it took a whole season of build up to even get a glimpse of him. Oh, and the CGI is overblown.
I really gave this show a chance. Trigun Stampede is trash. This is my personal opinion. If you love it, all the power to you and I hope you continue to enjoy it 😊
This anime after watching the first three episodes is different in two major ways from the original anime. The first is that the new anime is more serious during serious moments than the original was. The second is that there is way more blood, a lot more blood. I think there was more blood and then some more in the first three episodes versus the whole of the original anime. Also, that 3D Berserk anime that happened that I could not finish because it was done so badly, made me cringe hard when I heard one of my favourite animes was being rebooted in 3D animation, leaving me very worried. But after the first three episodes I can say all my worries are completely 100% gone. This will be a must watch winter 2023 anime for me. I don’t think I really gave away any spoilers with my comment. Cheers all!
I think this episode makes it clear the direction of the show. It's a show about Vash's conflict with Knives. It doesn't have the charm of the 1998 anime or the likeable characters. It's a show about drama and Vash's themes. It's a the Trigun creators canon story of the Knives arc. I can't say I care at all for the good guys in this show. I think I cared more about that stupid pregnant women who kept putting herself in harms way more than I care about Vash. He's actually an awful good guy just letting things happen, talking instead of acting against bad guys. Do I continue my subscription to Crunchy Roll to continue Trigun Stampede outside of the 14 day trial I started to watch it? Probably not because you really have to be invested in watching Knives get taken down, as the good guys are a lot like Roberto, so… meh.
