Also a Small reminder:
Maple slotted that skill IN HER SHIELD, yes, the same one that has the Passive Abominable OP skill that devours anything Hostile the Shield enters contact with, and yes. Those tentacles INHERIT THAT AS WELL.
So Maple didn't just earn a Skill, she managed to somehow COMBO IT to make her BEST DEFFENSE into a NASTY OFFENSIVE OPTION.
I swear, if Maple ever crosses over into a Final Fantasy game, she'd be a Quina-style Blue Mage for sure.

I just realized, all the Game Devs need to do in order to debuff Maple is make the creature taste as disgusting as possible! Vomit, earwax, poop, so many different options out there! You do that, it'll be very hard for her to get through it.

Maple reminds me of when a D&D player plays a character who you would think is a gag character, but has the ability to do versatile types of abilities. Unfortunately for the group she would experiment them in such creative fashion that she becomes the iconic gimmick of weird, funny, but somehow effective methods to solve the group's problems in … unforseen ways that really make a D&D party go "Mhm yup! Your regular adventuring day~!" after seeing ALL the bs that can or could ever happen.

I actually love the manga more. It is like other Isekai anime that made the anime more on comedy. The manga take it more seriously, it has it's comedy (manga). I really dont know who is more faithful to LN. Manga or anime. Because they have some event/characters introduce late compared to anime.
