My number one summer essential here on the Gulf Coast is a Lilly Pulitzer t-shirt dress or six. Worn with a pair of sandals or white sneakers and a straw or rattan bag and you have the perfect summer look. Plus you can pack a weeks worth in a tote for a quick get away. Can’t do that with linen.
Love your videos, especially when you show basics to build your wardrobe! Could you possibly sometimes show other body shapes wearing basics? I’m about the same height and weight as you are, but with an unfortunate round tummy, so I struggle with some of your close fitting and belted recommendations. Thanks😊

I bought two white and two bright pink tanks. I’m not sure why I bought two of the same colors in different brands. Now I need to fin ,y white linen shirt and I have a bright pink linen shirt too. Because my upper arms do not need to be seen. I found a pair of white jeans that are kind of thin material. I wore them last night to my granddaughter’s graduation. It had rained and cooled down. And I was freezing. And had a wet butt from sitting on the bleachers at the stadium. It was a nice ceremony. But boy was I glad to stand up no move around. I have a pair of Sam Edelman sandals that look like your Tory Burch ones. They’re even the same material. Patent leather. I almost wore them last night. But I deceive on my comfy Clark flip flops. I did buy some shoes to try. But nothing fit. So they’re all going back.
How about a video on practical clothes for the parts of the day that you spend in the kitchen, the garden, the yard, and so on?
If I put on white I wouldn't dare actually DO anything but sit on my couch with a book. 😀
I want to look pulled together and decent all the time and, when talking about dressing for the life I actually have, I spend a LOT more time in the kitchen or doing yardwork than I spend dressed up for Bible study or strolling through town.

This is great, Kay. You mentioned contrast and I think it is a topic we often overlook. Understanding whether one is of high or low contrast colouring can make a huge difference in impact.
This was really good. We are well into winter here even though it technically hasn’t started yet. I do like to watch the new season videos from the northern hemisphere because we will be getting them 6 months later. It’s also a good opportunity to make a list ahead and time and then shop the American end of season sales so that I can get some things ahead of time at a discount.
I love the concept of linen and how it keeps you cool, especially here in Oklahoma during the blazing hot summers. The problem is the ironing required. Between being a keeper of my home and making many things from scratch as well as homeschooling my children I simply don’t have the time in this season of life. If someone were to invent a wrinkle-free linen, they would be set for life 💰. 😂

Love the pretty colors and suggestions. I personally think nothing screams old more than those shirts that have the tabs on the arms to roll them up. You see NO ONE below about 55 wearing those. I prefer ordinary sleeves, like what you have. Also I have to watch my budget a bit more so I went to Amazon and bought Amazon classic essential tanks, camisoles and tees at a fraction of the price. They are soft and beautiful and wash very well so it is totally possible. A confident person wearing whatever she/he is wearing is always the best wardrobe choice regardless of price.
