  2. Johnny Bosch may be dubbing the anime but, whoever is subbing the new anime that is not following the manga is whatevet. I don't care I just want the manga adapted fully

  8. I really like this "anime news" style of video, I feel like it fits perfectly with how you present content and your editing style and everything. Not sure how often it'll be possible for you to do it, given multiple videos like this a week could lead to burnout plus sometimes there just won't be much news, but I hope you're able to do a video like this at least once or twice a week. Great way to keep up on news people might otherwise miss.

Let's be for real, CR would have gotten AWFUL pushback if they didn't bring him back and frankly, considering the great relationship JYB has with the TX studio and how many times he's come back for whatever they ask of him… it would have looked like a huge slight to not bring him back for his first ever role that clearly means a ton to him. I do think people need to be realistic about other reprisals as well and not have expectations that frankly wouldn't make sense for CR and their own scheduling and/or the creative direction of this reboot.

    As far as the whole "casting JYB won't allow for a fresh take" thing – An actor's job is to take direction and act, not just do whatever they want in the booth based on a performance 20 years ago. I look at how directors like Caitlin Glass handled revisiting fan-favorite character reprisals in the Fruits Basket reboot and never letting anyone in her cast be too tied to nostalgia for nostalgia's sake, but focused on serving the current story (Shigure being the biggest example). I also look at how I've never heard anyone say "well I'm having trouble treating say, Gilgamesh in Fate/GO Babylonia as a new & different character in a completely separate story now because he's played by the same actor who played him in F/SN." hahaha

  12. I love this type of content! Though I don't want you to exhaust yourself and then drop this kind of stuff (i enjoy anime news i dont have to read). Maybe weekly or bi weekly! Which ever will keep this content up!

So now your going the news approach? i guess it makes sense, you have been a lot more busier with your life since you married and gotten a family so doing more news videos will help the channel stay active but no so much draining to your personal life. By the way do you plane to do the five anime of the year this year? you have skipped the last few years i would like to see them again but if your busy i guess it can't be helped.

  20. Are people scared of MAPPA or something? Are we really going to pretend that the quality of S2E1 was even remotely at par with any of episode of S1? They did the same shit with AOT S4, and not many spoke about it except trolls. We do need healthy criticism, and not just extreme praises or trolls.

  22. TBH I'm kinda on the fence about old VAs returning for Trigun. Myself being German, I absolutely love the old German Trigun Dub, and they actually managed to bring back that entire cast for Badlands Rumble, and I also liked that Dub a lot, but as much as I like the charm of that dub, I feel like that it might not fit Trigun Stampede. Though Vash's German VA Stephan Schleberger is still active, but given that he's 60+ years old now, I'm not so sure how much his voice would fit this version of Vash. On one hand, I'd be glad if he returns, because I liked his performance as Vash in the old anime, but I'd also wonder how fitting it would be, especially because I'm sure most of the cast would be replaced as well. At least I can't imagine Meryl's VA returning, because she hasn't done any voice acting work since 2013. And her voice might sound too old for this version of Meryl at this point.

    What would be fun though, if they'd use these VAs like it was handled with the Japanese Dub of the Urusei Yatsura Remake, where the old VAs for Ataru, Lum and others returned to play other roles, in that case Ataru's VA is now playing Ataru's Dad, and Lum VA is playing Lum's Mom.

  23. I’m a big fan of the first season and the OVA of the ancient magus bride. But I don’t know if I will watch the new season or not. I love story’s that are isolated in the woods and places like that (it’s one of the big reasons why I love ancient magus bride.), and I hate magic school settings in stories. So sadly I’m kind of not excited about this new season, to be honest.

  30. I had similair thoughts about Johnny being Vash in this new adaptation. I loved Johnny's Vash in the original, but given the dramatic shift in art style and character design, I think its very possible that there will be some serious whiplash for viewers. I think I would have preferred that a younger VA was cast for Vash to better match this seemingly more youthful take on the character. Then again, that could just be the art and character design, and the end result will be much different.

  31. Outside of the character designs and Milly's absence, Trigun Stampede doesn't seem that much different….I think they're going to redo a lot of story elements from the manga and original anime

  34. They changed Trigun? Yeah, they should have just made something new unless they have so little faith in the story that they needed to take some well known anime from back in the day and use that to get people to watch. I already hate anime CG (look how bad the newer Berserk series looks) and if they're changing Millie and Meryl's roles and Vash's whole character, forget it.

  35. Johnny was one of the few voice actors that did better than the Japan counterparts. Similar to Steve Blum on Spike Spiegel and Eikichi Onizuka.

  37. I'm so glad that Johnny Yong Bosch is reprising his role in the new Trigun series. I understand your point about how this Vash is a different character from the one in the original series, but I think that JYB can potentially give a different performance to help make this new Vash feel more distinct or different. Plus, considering that Vash was his first anime voice over role, it's kind of nice that he is going to be included in the dub. The fact that they probably won't include any other voice actors from either the original series or the Badlands Rumble movie is a bit more disappointing, but I'm excited to watch the dub all the same.

  38. I, too, adored AMB season one as well as the OVAs. I tried reading the "Hogwarts Arc" for about a year. The mangaka badly needed and needs an editor. It reminded me of Japanese military planning in WWII: "let's come up with an insanely complicated premise, abandoning everything we've done well since 1905, and then… make it MORE COMPLICATED."

    I'll certainly give it a try but I think it will devolve into a hyper-detailed trainwreck of dysfunctional teens.

    Get us back to the countryside and the Friends. Get us back to Elias and Chise, not third and fourth bit players.

  40. Liking the new anime related news style.
    Just two suggestions/thoughts.
    1. Put Anime News or Aninews in the title so people can see those words, because people might not get what the video is about as well as helping to tell when looking at other videos on the channel.
    2. Be careful from burnout. Maybe only do this kind of thing every week or two.

  41. You really do have a great name. I also cannot wait for season 2 of The Ancient Magus' Bride. Vash seems very much the same character to me from the two episodes that have dropped. I can't effectively defend him because I don't know why you think he's different but I truly feel he's the same old Vash from the anime and manga.

  43. Hu-whaat? You mean "Gekijouban" isn't enough substitle for you??? lol, but yeah, I got ya. Kinda don't care about Psycho-Pass tho because I only cared since Urobuchi wrote it at the heights of his fame and it felt like him finally a way to write Kikokugai in a post Fate/zero and MadoMagi world where he learns how to write stories that aren't total downers.

  46. Trigun Stampede is… not bad. Pretty fun, but it's sure shitty in how it does backstory/reveals. Trigun OG did it better.

    Also, I disagree, the one thing that does feel mostly the same is Vash's character.
