This guy really, really means what he says. He does not take words lightly. He is going to be a force the rest of the NFL will have to reckon with. Literally jumped up and down when Dallas picked him. I was hoping for months that he'd be a Cowboy, when he got the 30 invite, I started to believe it could happen. All of the great Cowboys teams were anchored by great defensive tackles.

I don't care what anybody says, we needed this kid more than any of us even know. We haven't been strong at the NT or 1 technique in a very very very long time. So to see us commit to a 1st round grade NT just brings a defensive tear to my eye. I'm so proud of this pick and the commitment to finally do something about teams running all over us. The should be a great defense this year, high expectations for Mazi and the Boyz.

I had my doubts about McCarthy, but i love how hes been with the Jones family in the draft room and they all make picks together. I also loved how he kept assuring the kid and the media that he was exactly the man they wanted and were happy that he fell to them. Keep in mind they see more of these players than we get to, especially early on in the draft process. Theyve probably visited with him and talked to him a number of times before the draft. I think theyre legit happy that he fell to them. Im happy too!
As long as the defense doesn't have to be on the field all the time (turnovers by the offense), this group will be formidable.
