  1. People are ridiculous. People pay for the decorating, not whether or not it's a cake created from scratch. It's an art. You're extremely talented.

  2. Hey Mimo.. in the last clip we can see some “strings” dangling alongside you..
Idk if it’s your hair in a brade style or just some accessory you’re using just fyi

  3. In my world you're a pro baker with a booming business. You have a spread in all the popular home magazines in the checkout at Walmart too.

    Don't wake me up.

  4. Lol alot of professional bakers use box cakes, except instead of water they use milk, instead of vegetable oil they use melted butter and 3 eggs and add two egg white or 2 eggs and one egg white depending on the brand of box. So you're good.

  5. Box cake mix is where it’s at. I’ve worked at some of the best bakeries in the last 12 years and they all use a mix. You want to know why? They are reliable. From scratch is always dry. Where I live the weather goes from one extreme to the next and it’s next to impossible to have a cake be the same taste and texture as when guests try at their tasting if they taste in the winter vs summer.

  6. If you want that fluffy or cake texter you need a cream your butter and your sugar a separate egg whites from the egg yolks look up your egg whites and then sold them in with the rest of the mixture at the end it gives you a lot lighter fluffier cake

  7. you don't have to give up boxed cakes but the chocolate cake recipe on the back of the hershey's cocoa powder container is really good, if you ever want to try it, i've been making it for my mothers birthdays for the last four years because she says it taste just like the cake that her grandma nani made when she was a kid.

  8. Hay gurl I always use box cakes and I hand whip them like I use a whisk to mix the cake. I think personally using a hand held whisk it makes it fluffier cause of the variations of movement in the whisk. But oml I Must admit kitchenaids make the best cakes 🤤 so fluffy and it mixes so fast

  9. you can make cake with what you prefer. and bakery do use cake mix all the time. but cake mix are not healthy and when you are making something homemade you don't want it to be harmful for your body. so I always go for homemade cakes made form scratch.

  10. The most popular bakery in my area uses Duncan Hines cake mixes for all their cakes. I know this because they bought the mixes in bulk from a former employer of mine.

  11. my mother in law used box cake for 30 yrs at a country club she was the baker. she added a box of instant pudding and 2 extra eggs to them they were delicious.😀😀❤

  12. ha, i guess that’s the reason i don’t like american cakes – i grew up eating tasty homemade cakes and american cakes taste and look like sugary sponge to me. i have tried them over and over and over again and that’s still a big nope from me. i like watching cakes being decorated because it’s pretty and relaxing, but i always wondered why people buy the decoration when the cake doesn’t have any taste. i guess your taste palate gets used to whatever you were served as a kid. i love my cakes dense and flavorful and creamy.

  13. I don’t use box mixes because if I’m already baking I might as well make it from scratch, if I don’t feel like it then I just buy it premade, but that doesn’t mean box mixes are some taboo, if you’re baking alllllll the time especially for a business or if your main medium isn’t even the cake itself but the frosting then of course you’ll want something less time consuming

  14. I’ve never had a cake from scratch that I like. I think they all taste too much like cornbread. And I actually have a cake lady that makes the most amazing cakes from a box but she doctors them up so they taste even better and she’s the most amazing cake decorator I’ve ever seen. So I do pay her for the decor and the time it took for her to make the cake and decorate it. Her prices are reasonable but i also know people who make a fuss when she charges bc after all she used a “Cake box” and to me it’s like. Hey pay what she’s charging or just go make your own cake from the same cake box and see if it’s as good as hers.

Id also like to add that when I bake cakes -from a cake box they dont come out as good as my cake ladies do. They are yummy but she adds some sort of magic touch to it and it’s DELICIOUS!

  15. Yeah I've come to the point where if you want to make a box cake mix, go ahead and enjoy your chemicals… will probably live longer. I'll make from scratch, and enjoy my shortened life LOL

  16. You’re definitely still a professional, and I appreciate the acknowledgment about making cakes from scratch and how time consuming it is! I sell (more amateur) cakes from home, and I make everything from scratch which ends up taking sooo much longer just to get the cakes themselves baked- not even decorated yet! I do pride myself on my cakes, as I’ve developed my own recipes and variations for them.

  17. Is Colin the caterpillar cake made from scratch I love Colin he’s such a cute cake idk if the us has him but if u don’t ur missing out he’s so amazing

  18. My grandmother-in-law used boxed cakes and made many wedding cakes for her income and she was doing these theme cakes before it was popular. There is no right or wrong way of baking along as it tastes good. ♥

  19. I'm the same. I have tried a zillion cake recipes and the ones I like the best are the ones closest to the texture of box cake

  20. Honestly I'm 11 and I'm not a Baker but I always make marble cake my cousin sent me the recipie so now I just follow it and believe me its good ❤

  21. Ultimately food/cake is supposed to taste good so as long as the cake tastes good I don’t see the problem in using box cake

  22. I too prefer box cakes over from scratch. I am an amateur baker. I am learning the science of it all. The balance of ingredients and the touch of magic in every cake box mix is transcendental.

  23. it’s fine to used boxed cake mix, it also saves money on ingredients for small businesses bakers in general. honestly the taste isn’t really different either

  24. You have to use a special cake flour to make a light and fluffy cake and it is a lot more than regular flour. If she used it for her cakes it would cost a whole lot more and something’s else for you people to criticize her for!!!!!!!!!

  25. To you lot saying that she’s not a professional first of all who is the person who pronounces people professionals and second of all it’s literally like asking Picasso to make his flipping canvases like… GROW TF UP 😁

  26. Box cake is delicious especially if you add an extra egg, switch water for milk and oil for melted butter. It turns out so moist and amazing

  27. Best thing I learned from working at a liquor store for 7 years is that any cheap-ass Brandy is better than vanilla
It's 80 proof instead of 90 proof like vanilla extract and actually tastes good.
You're not using enough to make it stay in the cake, which is why pastries are considered non-alcoholic when they have alcohol in them. They're only alcoholic when you soak them and rum after.

You can also make your own vanilla extract using everclear and then letting it sit with extra sugar to lessen the alcohol content. That is how you make actual vanilla extract

  28. I want to start my cake business and I know how to make cakes from strath but, I actually prefer the box cake mix I’m glad I stumble across your video so I know that I shouldn’t feel bad.

  29. I work at a grocery store and found out a few years ago that every single grocery store gets cakes and cupcakes premade lol and i love them
