Knives whining about his leg has been a meme forever, but I genuinely think it's a good scene. He is having a freak-out because his brother, who normally wouldn't hurt a fly, shot him, and he hasn't felt pain like that before in his life, but it's also a deliberate attempt to guilt-trip Vash. "Omg, look at what you did. It hurts so baddd!! HoW COuLd YoU??!" 98 Knives is a little gaslighting freak.

It's meta humor but I always adored that the voice actor who plays Legato also played Kenshin. Both Vash & Kenshin have a goal of not killing, just find it cute. Meryl voice actress also voiced Kaoru (from Rurouni Kenshin).
