  4. Episode was so good 24 minutes was like 4 minutes imagine a fight between thorkell and thorgil it will be Epic, oh guess next week it's gonna be a reunion ep

  5. 100 soldiers are more than enough, remember Snake even said that you'd only need 50-60 soldiers to take over the farm, so having 100 soldiers is an overkill. Especially since 70 of them are Jomsviking who every single one of them would be as strong or close to Throgil's strength.

  6. For those who are interested in reading along with the manga, this episode adapted the entirety of chapters 77-78. The next episode appears to be finally adapting the last five pages of chapter 73 and all of chapter 74 along with chapter 79 (since the anime rearranged the original presentation/order of scenes from different settings).

    So this is an easy mistake to make, but the coin-guy (likely one of Canute’s espionage men) is not the same person as Wulf. While they have similar hair color and both have facial hair, if you pay close attention you can tell their faces (and voices) are different.

    If it wasn’t clear from this episode, Canute’s plan for Olmar originally just involved getting Olmar to maim/kill one of the king’s messengers, and then be killed/captured in turn (in order to create a “justification” for arresting Ketil and seizing his assets). However, as Wulf said, Thorgil intervening and killing the remaining messengers and guards was an unplanned oversight, though now Canute has even more “justification” to arrest a seize the assets of the Ketil family.

    Some other bits of trivia: the scene of Einar and Thorfinn plowing and watching the sunset at the end of this episode was an anime original scene.

    Also there was a line of Canute’s that’s somewhat important to his characterization that got cut (likely for run-time). Anyways the cut line comes right after Canute asks the haunting head of his father why the latter is laughing, and the cut line Canute follows up with is: “Is the deepening of my sin entertaining to you?”. So if it wasn’t clear from the rest of Canute’s characterization this episode, he is quite self-aware of the immoral qualities of his plans to seize Ketil’s farmland.

  8. Totally agree that it is cool how the stories are weaving together. Really looking forward to whatever crazy stuff is about to happen. Especially hope to see a more meaningful reunion of Thorfinn and Leif (now that Thorfinn has had some time to get his shit somewhat sorted).

    I am anime-only, so I don't really know how things are going to go, but I can't imagine anything is going to work out right for anybody when it comes to Keitil's farm. Just seems like it's going to be a shitshow no matter what.

    Maybe Canute will ultimately get the farm, 70 Jomsviking + 32 kings guard is probably way more than enough, but I have a feeling it is going to be utter chaos (because people like Snake, Thorgil, Thorfinn, even Einarr are wildcards that Canute is not expecting).

  9. The love Canute talked about was mentioned by the priest back in Season 1. I'm paraphrasing this, but I believe the priest told Canute that we experience the purest form of love when we die and souls go to God and our bodies remain on earth to feed it.

  11. Thorgil was an absolute menace this ep, he was on demon time. Definitely MVP of the episode, esp for noticing how fishy it all was.
    Also THAT PREVIEW THOUGH…FINALLY!!! I've been waiting for this since ep10 but we got Canute and how he's dealing with being king and all. I'm not complaining, cuz I'm pretty sure next ep is WELL WORTH WAITING A WHOLE MONTH FOR!

    I feel bad for those who dropped this show, be it earlier in the season or ep 9 when Thorfinn swore his oath to not walk the path of hatred and violence again. Let MaGOATo Yukimura COOK, he knows how to tell an amazing story. Right now we're still in the "rising action" part of the arc, so we're still watching the plot points build up for the arc's climax.

  14. i dont think any of you or us have the right to point out canute's mistakes or mock him.
    in season 1 during canute's awakening he refers to the love that is lost from this world, any he promised himself that he will get that love back…..
    He is taking a diffrent approach from his father, even for us viewers it might seem evilish……but from canute's pov he is doing the necessary things in order to make the desired changes…try thinking from canutes perspective

  15. Sorry but it really puts me off how Rock easily giggles at even the worst situations. I'm just wondering what's funny but look at the girl in the center, she doesn't get it either.

    Not trying to knock your content, I watch a lot of your vids, I'm subbed etc. but sometimes I don't understand the lack of empathy or at least respect. I get it's just drawings with animation but I'd think you'd respect it more by now.

  17. Thorgil is terrifying, for sure, but not cause of his strength or skill. He is bereft of feelings beyond those he has for war and strength.

    I bet he would be as happy to see Olmar die as to win: «Good, now our family is without weaklings.»

    He’s only smiled or shown interest when it’s about brutality: necklace of ears (worse is he probably made that), punishing children, getting the chance to slaughter people, and celebrating that he is facing war against a superior foe.

    Everything else? He couldn’t care less….

  19. Kettle comes from Ketill, ketill means cauldron in old norse. All the names are norse. Thorgil/Thorkil – Thor's cauldron.

  20. The reason they knew the plan but we're shocked to see him alive is because they knew he would get help to kill 1 soldier. They thought the rest would finish him, still keeping ketil in debt.
    At least that's what I think

  21. At this point, every name with "Thor" in it is just an epic character. Thorgil is a brute but he's no dummy. Japanese VA is perfect too. LFG.
