In/Spectre episode 22! Another fantastic episode, that ended with a twist I didn’t see coming! Man, Kotoko is a true monster. She fed them just the right info to come up with the theory she wanted them to, then flips it on its head! I just thought she was messing with the old man, but I guess there’s more going on that that!

really! I didn't think there would be a continuation of this case… Kotoko amazing😱💦
I think one of the reasons I love this series is that it doesn't insult the viewer or dumb things down. It assumes a level of intelligence and reasoning from it's audience (much like Classic Hollywood movies & OTR shows) and then makes them USE it. Every Single Episode. I love Rion – so smart. Even realizing both how Kotoko led them to the theory & that there was more going to happen. That was amazing of Kotoko too. Her false theory fit so well with the facts that it's almost easy to forget it's deliberately manufactured and fake. We as viewers 'know' (or think we do) what really happened. Told by the old man, but confirmed by the fox ayakashi.
I had a feeling that there was going to be more to it, but for her to let them present her own placed theory just to say 'that's actually bs – it's murder and I'll tell you what really happened'? I didn't expect that. Obviously, Kotoko can't say what 'truly' happened because the supernatural stuff can't be mentioned. But it's giving a vibe that there's more to the old man's story or motivations that will be revealed in the next episode. Especially as his acceptance of the suicide theory is a bit suspicious considering what he claims he wants to happen – the theory implicates him and puts guilt on him, but the true culpability ends up on Denshiro, the wife's father (ie Colonel Sanders). There's still sympathy for our 'culprit' since it seemed he saved his children and more once he revealed his impending painful death.
I love the supernatural stuff obviously, but I'm adoring this mini arc as a mystery fan – I grew up on Sherlock Holmes (books, OTR, movies, games, etc.), Agatha Christie, tea cozy mysteries, Lord Peter Wimsey, Nero Wolfe, CSI, historical fiction mysteries like the Lady Grace Mysteries and Nicholas Bracewell series, Old Time Radio Shows like The Shadow, The Saint, Boston Blackie… I could list so much more. So having a LOT of enjoyment with this. Man, I'm excited for the next episode! #WakuWaku
