How dare you, Buddy Daddies? Just… how dare you?
Yeah that was my main issue with Miri's mom. I would have absolutely 0 issues if she wanted to get back into Miri's life with visits and such. But to COMPLETELY take her away from the new family Miri found AND you are dying? Bro what the hell is this woman thinking. They could have made a deal that Miri goes to live with Misaki for a bit until they take care of the threat but ig we just need kazurei to actively want to destroy the organization. And sadly it seems like they are not at that point in development yet to want them dead. Hopefully the main factor will be someone kidnapping Miri and not either Kazuki or Rei dying and the other goes into rampage mode.
I think Rei will leave Kazuki and return to the organization to be able to protect him and Miri.
i said this 100 times since watching the episode and i'll say it again: they gave us sad ending now so we can get happy ending at the end of the season yup yup you can't change my mind
Co-parenting would be fine but the mother wanted to spend her last moments with her own parents that doesn't seem to live near this city :/

I was also thinking they could co parent, Miri can have a mom and two papas that love her 😭 now when Miri's out of the picture Rei and Kazuki could start dealing with the organization/get out of that life… I feel like it's been set up for them to make that choice. Then they can reunite with Miri.
I've seen a lot of hate for Misaki but I just feel sad for her… she was unwell in a terrible situation but seems to never actually let it affect Miri no matter what she said she felt about it.
Imagine what happend when they got home without miri how quiet everything would be…

This is so ridiculously heartbreakingly messy.
Like you know what this episode is? With them sitting in the car together preparing for a last day with Miri? An exact mirror of episode 3 when they LITERALLY tried to do just that, back when it would have been better for everyone before anyone got attached. Now? A year later, this is an entire disaster that's just hurting everybody at this point.
And yes, Misaki is to blame for all of this. She decided she didn't want her daughter anymore and just threw her out. She caused all of this herself. If she actually cared even a tiny bit about Miri she would realize the absolute pain she is now putting Rei and Kazuki through, the ones who ACTUALLY cared for her all this time.
Next week gonna be so Depressed its gonna make the reactor a state of disbelief 😔 , i dont watch manga but i feel the tingle like spider sense tingleling
After all the cuteness i knew something was coming… but that was hard …i couldnt hold my tears.
I know it’s her mother but the whole time I was watching episode I was screaming my head of at her, she has no right to talk about their dangerous work when she said she wanted to abuse Miri, she’s lost all right to Miri after that, doesn’t matter what she’s going through
And if they let miri go with her, when she dies miris not gonna be able to come back because if they let her go it’s basically cutting ties
I understand what you're saying about there being other ways it could've been handled, but being around Miri is dangerous given the intentions of the organization. Knowing that, even co-parenting would put her in danger. They have no choice but to let her go, or run. Running isn't an option if you want your child to have a normal childhood. There were no tears shed on screen, yet i felt so sad by the ending 🥺

As someone who is adopted, if the mom isnt bad (she may have said bad things about Miri but that doesnt mean she mistreated her or that she doesnt love her, she just wasnt ready to be a mom and Miri just says good things about her so yeah) she should stay with her biological mom, if it isnt necessary, no child should be separated from their biological family

Yea a Lil sad episode & co parenting would be a good option for the boys to get back on the assassin game as well…but is the mother actually changed? Or did the organization threaten her or offered her money( less likely to offer money but maybe they did since rei is the heir to the organization) to take her back…
Why is nobody talking about how REI DIDNT GET TO SAY GOODBYE HE GOT NO HUGS NO FAREWELLS LIKE KAZUKI DID Rei isn’t as expressive as Kazuki but he deserves some closure too 😭😭
An issue I have with Misaki saying that Rei and Kazuki's job is dangerous and puts Miri at risk ignores the fact that 1. Misaki's own previous job could have also put Miri at risk, as well as the man in her life; and 2. Misaki had no qualm about letting Miri go all the way to find her blood father on her own, especially when said man was involved with human trafficking who didn't have a stable address. Yes as assassins Miri is at risk from potential victims' families/friends and their own organisation. But it feels like Misaki is acting as if she, herself, wasn't willing/uncaring about Miri being in a less stable situation that could also see her life/innocence in danger.
Misaki I completely gave the benefit of the doubt to before: some women just don't want/aren't capable of being good mothers, and so giving Miri up was probably the best thing to do for Miri. But in this episode she just read as so manipulative, and like they said her focus was all on her own needs and wants, not Miri's needs and wants. I'm also very dubious about her having cancer. I don't want to have to question it, but just her body language and how she spoke about it makes me feel a bit wary in believing her. It's possible it was a story she concocted to try and gain Kazuki and Rei's pity. When they didn't pity her enough to give Miri back that's when she brought out the blackmail/coercive behaviour.
Anyone knows what will happen next? Can't digest this episode. Have seen lots of anime with sad note, ending but this one hits different. Didn't expect this episode to be turnout a melancholic.

Ok so this might be an unpopular opinion but- for someone who had family members die from cancer (which Miris mom sais she has) like it isn't fun being around as a kid! I understand that some might say that you want to spend time with someone before it is too late but Miri is what? 4 Years old? Children at that age mostly do not even understand the concept of death!!! What happens when her mom one day dies and maybe even when Miri is directly around?
Personally as a child all I wanted was being with my family and not seeing them slowly decay in front of me… The worst part about my childhood was to see that with my grandma and I would often blame myself for situations I had no control over cause as a KID you do Not understand everything but also with a child mind adaping to situations one might say kids pick up on a lot of things that you want to protect them from.
So realistically Miri never said she wanted to go back to her mom the entire time she was with Rei and Kazuki (except the one tease in ep 3) – but of course when her mom shows up Miri would be over the moon… it is her mom after all. But realistically speaking having a stable home is what
Miri just might need after all! It is also almost christmas time again which means that Miri has been away from her mom for almost a year!
I get where mom is comming from but just because you had a wake up call does not mean you can bomb the routine Miri has. Plus we fo not know what Miri lived like with her mom before… children block things out their minds and try to see their guardian as someone good – but like Kazuki and Rei went to bring Miri back not long after they got her 😐 by then the Mom was still at a bar working as a singer and involved with shady dudes…
At this point I am finding neither option of who gets to raise her to be perfect! I just think that at the moment with an established routine, own room, good food source, positive environment, etc that (should nothing happen from the organisation) Miri is in better hands with her Papas! Especially with the mom revealing her sickness!!!! That is just too much for a 4 year old!!! It isn't always best to be with the bio parent and even tho I feel pity for the mom… like no she should not have come, mostly because I am still convinced that she only turned everything upside down cause she was informed that Miri is in danger (so at least some part of her wants to protect her I feel…)

I am suspicious of the mother. I think he's going to sell Miri since her boyfriend was a trafficker after all. And the "scar" kind of bothered me. It looked almost painted.
Or, playing Devil's advocate, if he has throat cancer and needs money for it, that would mean putting his own daughter up for sale. He seemed like the kind of person to do that.

14:45 you're actually right! XD one of the staff said in an interview that Rei's posture is always good when he's ON mode. So during his OFF mode, the staff said his and Kazuki's height difference are noticeable because Rei is slouching.
and the fact that the've had her FOR A WHOLE YEAR, and the mom has the guts to show up now after not being there for such long time

15:26 i think he meant "it might not be too late" in the way that Miri is 4 years old so if they gave her back to her mom now she woudn't remember them when she is older, cause of how little she is, and she can have a normal life. It's not too late for her to forget the two of them

Kyu-chan definitely forced Miri's mom to get her back.. No one knows what he said to her, maybe a threat in it as well considering the fact that he disclosed Kazuki and Rei are in dangerous line of work.. I think Kyu-chan did his best to solve the problem, otherwise all of them are in danger.
Yes lala I totally agree that for original anime projects from creators it's difficult to predict and the storyline we think will happen when it actually happens is still shocking.
The fact of the source is made purely from the thoughts of the creators with the help of major studios
This season there are two original anime projects

I highly recommend ♥♠High Card ♣♦ for those of you who are also interested in anime with original stories with a general or common things from 2 popular anime

after watch high card and follow up until new episode I can tell both creators (BD and HC) have the same mindset (especially making episode 10 of their anime project a turning card in the storyline)
They're like, "yes let's make 1 episode with the cuteness of both Main Male MC's interactions and we'll pick episode 10 to give the viewers unforgettable pain LOL
But seriously, the two MCs in both anime, I see, have the same pattern in the development of the characters, the problems they face, and the past that haunts them
Like the blonde boy Kazuki and Finn, they didn't grow up with their parents and always blamed themselves for the suffering of the people they care about (Kazuki's wife and Finn's 'home')
On the other hand, their black-haired male co-workers Rei and Chris, their father's job has a big influence on their lives
For this season, the two original anime really emphasize the plot of the story about the family, "Family is not only those who are bound by blood"
proof that Kazuki and Rei feel like a family for Miri, as well as Finn and Chris who are fighting for their respective families and how they have to forge new bonds
As much as I hate to say it, leaving Miri was the right option, leaving her with her mother not so much. She has cancer, and has no date in her death. She can die at any given moment leaving Miri unprotected, alone, starved, and scared. Her mother isn't fit to as so much as take care of herself, there's no way to take care of a child as a single parent, seeming that she has never got help or therapy for her sudden out bursts or rage when Miri acts like a child. In Rei's and Kazuki's situation, they could put Miri in potential danger, or even death. They're assassins in a larger undercover group. As so, leaving Miri and leaving her with a trusted adult is the best option. As we know of, the best option right now would be the teacher of the daycare.
Misaki sent her four year old all alone to find a human trafficker for hush money. She has no sympathy from me.
She didn’t even make the choice to leave her job or her man. They did that to her. She doesn’t even want Miri for a valid reason. She wants Miri so she can feel the unconditional love of a child before she dies because she has no one left.
