  5. Askeladd was never Thorfinns enemy. He may even loved him like a son he'd imagine. Yea he was shitty to him but good more.

  12. This episode was literally a work of art. One of the most beautiful, heartbreaking and mesmerizing things I'd ever seen. I know this isn't as "actiony" as some people wanted but those people never really seemed to get what the series was even trying to say. This was never a shounen battle manga like Dragon Ball. This is a deep and thoughtful tale of growth and redemption.

  14. More cuts then in Dragon Ball Super, season 4 Seven Deadly Sins and season 1 Record of Ragnarok animation combined.

I don’t think people really realize what they’re looking at , this could easily be the most hauntingly beautiful message to anyone watching especially in this time and era , in a state of having one enemy your making way for more , possibly a lot more , until it’s never ending , everyone should live in peace no one should have to die for pride, ego , or power . That is unjust justification. Askelad states and that it is the true state of warfare no winner or loser no end or beginning, because if one lets themselves stoop so low , they’ll never know when to get out until it’s too late . Be peaceful…

  23. Eren (the virgin who blueballed the worlds biggest baddie) Yaeger: “Everyone that’s not on my island is my enemy! I gotta destroy the entire world to make my friends (who are now my enemies) safe! No destroying the rest of the world won’t have consequences for my island!!!! Other ways?!?! There is no other way!!! I tried thinking of another way, like, really hard but I got a headache!!! (I prefer shouting angrily at things) No you’re a puppet Mikasa, not me! I just do what the visions tell me to do!”

    Thorfinn the chad: “I have no enemies, I will break free of this society that encourages constant and senseless war, and continue living to make the world better than I left it, also, maybe I’ll get married to some thicc Scandinavian girl while I’m at it.”

  24. It makes sense. Only Askellad appears to be the only person Thorfinn listens to. But hard to process as it's not a kill order. Hate combined with revenge are what can rot a persons soul. Askellad is asking Thorfinn to move the fuq on and live your life. Thorfinn May have sworn an oath to not hurt anyone. However, his father told him that it's ok to fight if only to defend.

  26. Eren dies a virgin, cuck and simp " I DON'T WANT THAT! … MIKASA FINDING ANOTHER MAN?!" meanwhile The Chad Thorfinn "I have no enemies, I'm going to reborn and be a true warrior" ends up being a mature person, gets a wife and redeems himself and fulfills his ultimate goal.

  31. Just feel the need to point out that when asked if this place was Valhalla, Askeladd laughs it off indicating it is somewhere else. So we should recall the Christian element in season 1 with the priest, what we could be seeing is one of the rings of hell similar to Dante's inferno.

    Connected to this, we do have the option to believe this was not just a dream sequence.
    1. Thorfinn never saw his father dressed to go to war, yet he somehow knows the armour we saw in the first episode ( perhaps it was in the chest, it has been a while since I watched the early season).
    2. Dante's inferno was only written in 1300AD, whereas Vinland saga is set in 1000AD so Thorfinn would not be aware of the rings of Hell.
    3. Conceptually there would be little reason for Thorfinn's mind to be so heavily influenced by the Christian concepts as he is not seen influenced by the Bible. We see things such as a descent through the ground as if going further into Hell. As much as we all like Thors and he has proven to be a good man, he also killed many people and that's why we see his victims crawl all over him while talking to Thorfinn; perhaps their talk was set in purgatory.

  37. ngl I lost it and teared when Askeladd told him to climb, bring those he killed with him and to become a true warrior. Man is his second father, it wasn't Thorkell that made him take the righteous path, it was Askedad. MVP. Seeing Askeladd again on screen brought so much emotion

  46. Askeladd appeared for some minutes yet he still has a big impact on Thorfinn and the story as whole.

    It is great seeing him again teaching Thorfinn even in the afterlife and wanting him to avoid this hell, proves he did care for Thorfinn after all
