  1. Yeah, the dream was just Thorfinn's guilt. Guilt of he could've killed Einar just the same as all the others. Now I'm worried about the consequence of what Thorfinn did in the end.

  2. I think ppl have already mentioned this, but Thorfinn NEVER attacked Einar's village.

This was an anime-only scene, the only reason child Einar is there is because it's Thorfinn's subconscious giving a face to the children whose lives he ruined.

  3. What an amazing season this is. Vinland Saga continues to be a top tier show. And man, what an emotional scene with Thorfinn and Einar… Legit had me tearing up.

  4. I can see what you mean why thorfinn throw the punch But entirely thorfinn just wanted to protect einar he also was sick of them treating them bad that’s why thorfinn was surprised he punched him lol

  5. No, the nigthmare isn't true, Thorfinn would be too old compare to Einar and I think, if I remember correctly he was 20 in the first episode of this season while Thorfinn was 18 so there is difference of 2/3 years. But the Thorfinn in the Nigthmare is like 14-16 but Einar is too young, he looks like 10-12.

  6. I’m DYINGGGGG at the aggressive ass scream just completely cut off realizing it was thorfinn😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

  7. Why do people think Thorfinn attacked Einar's family? We were given to understand that for the first time it was

troops from England. Besides, they have a difference of one year. (((

  8. Personally, I can't see why people are complaining about this season. The character growth has been great so far, and I've read so I know where it leads. I get there is less action but story wise it's peak. Vinland Saga is too fire

  9. I thinknit was more of a "what if" dream. Einar told Thorfinn that his dad stayed behind to fight them while his mom and sister escaped, and also that the first people who raided his village were with the English king's army (or something like that. Like on a "peacekeeping" mission.)

  10. Honestly, to get out of this all thorfin and einar need to do is say this. "Master, these men are the prime suspects in the crime of destroying our crops. They were healthy crops high in nutrients that master has commanded us to grow. They then mocked us and insulted your property, basically admitting their guilt. We do deserve punushment for harming your workers, but please, i beg of you, choose a punishment based on the reason we committed such an act, as one whom tends the fields himself would choose." They would then bow, probably get a beating, but they would escape the death penalty. Sucks, but this would be the best option for the time period.

  11. i feel like at the end thorfinn started to zone out because he realizes earlier in the episode he can change but violence still follows so i think that’s why he kinda froze up and thought of the old lady and his dad

  12. For those who are interested in reading along with the manga, this episode adapted the entirety of chapters 68 to 69.

In regards to the passage of time (the manga is sometimes more explicit about the dates) during this episode it’s supposed to be winter now and Lent soon (as Sverkel indicated), so it’s probably meant to be around February-March of 1016, i.e. another few months have passed since the previous episode.

A little bit of trivia, the very opening scene of the episode (where Thorfinn is staring at a child version of Einar) is an anime original addition/scene. And to be clear, child Einar in Thorfinn’s dream is just symbolic of the types of people Thorfinn used to pillage and raid as a Viking, as Thorfinn wasn’t directly involved in either of the times Einar’s village was raided in the past (the first time was done by English soldiers, and by the second time Thorfinn had already been sold into slavery as punishment for attacking Canute).

And Einar and Thorfinn are only one year apart in age (20 and 19 respectively at the start of the season).

  13. I didn't read the manga but from what I'm seeing pops go tell him throw them hands fist fights should be the way men handle their squabbles not killing remember when thors was about to fight thorkell nut without a sword

  14. No, Thorfinn did not attack Einar's village when Einar was a child. He's not that old. Besides, the oens who attacked them were the English.

  15. Yeah, Thorfinn's starting to realize the weight of his actions. He may be empty and changing himself now for the better, but the consequences of what he did is gonna catch up soon.
