  1. Einar is 1 year older, meaning Thorfinn was even younger at the time, so he wasn't him. I think it's more like Thorfinn feels guilty bc he was the same as the men who pillaged Einar's village or maybe it's like giving a face and a name to his victims since he just killed ppl without knowing anything about them.

  2. From Thorfinn forgetting something very important to showing Thor saying something that we can't hear, I'm guessing it's the, "You don't have enemy," thingy. Could be wrong tho.. idk..

  3. Einar explained that the danes came the second time and in thorfins dream its einar as a child the first time. Thorfinn was probably in England when Einar was in england but i doubt they crossed paths. they only showed that dream because thorfinn believes hes as bad as the ones who killed einars family

  4. Idk what the creator had to go through to just spit these absolutely thought-provoking lines. Idk if I should be jealous or scared.

  5. Right in the feels here 14:15 , Thorfin's answer to Einar that he deserves to die by his hand 100 times over if he wants to kill the retainers shows Thorfins empathy, guilt and character development compared to Thorfin s1 who's only hell bent on revenge. That's why it's so impactful to the point you tear up is just amazing and heartwarming.

  6. It's not about einer specifically, The first time Einar village was attacked it wasn't the danes it's the time when his mother and sister were killed that was the danes So thorfin wasn't envolved . BUT when Einar told his story to thorfin obviously thorfin would be thinking of how many "Einars" out there ? ones he actually killed their parents or brothers or burned down their villages etc …

  7. Einar is bigger and stronger than Thorfinn, but getting punched by Thorfinn is much worse than getting punched by Einar. Thorfinn knows how to hit, and where to hit. Broke that guy's jaw and a few of his teeth with one hit.

  8. Thorfinn dream isn’t a memory of him raiding Einar’s home, it’s meaning about how he feels guilty for Einar’s family because he was exactly like those brutal man who did that shit. He feels so tormented because he could easily be one of those dudes and it terrorise him the idea of the only thing that prevented him for not attacking Einar’s family was timing. We can see some positive things tho, Thorfinn no longer persives himself as the same when he was a “warrior” that’s why a secondary young version shows up to attack Einar because he no longer would do that. But also proves that he has no control of that young thorfinn, he can’t stop him because they’re not longer the same. He sees himself as a monster

  9. For all the people who dropped this masterpiece of an anime bc they said it is “too boring” or “they’re no fights so i’m not watching”, I feel bad for them man. This anime has so many layers it’s incredible. Anyways 10/10 episode yet again and 10/10 reaction. Peakland saga🔥

  10. what Thorfinn forgets isn't anything really related to Askeladd, what Thorfinn forgets is Thors' teachings and words for example (you have no enemies, No one has any enemies), stuff like that

  11. I hope this comment doesn't get deleted, but I completely understand if it is.
What Throrfinn said he kept forgetting that is very important are his father's words. He said "You don't have any enemies. No one has any enemies. There is no reason to harm another person. A true warrior doesn't need a sword".
That last bit is the most important. "A true warrior doesn't need a sword" can be translated into meaning "true strength doesn't require violence". This whole story is about kindnesses and love, and "Vinland" is just a metaphor for that.

  12. It wasn't that Thorfinn pillaged Einars home and family but Thorfinn was seeing it like "If I had seen his family back then I would've killed them without a second thought" or "Those vikings could've been me" but yeah him and Einar are pretty much the same age so that would've been impossible.

  13. Lmao wtf was that intro
This is one of the best episodes thus far, and its tone is incredibly serious and somber.
In contrast your rapping is like a joke at a funeral 😆 funny but uncomfortable

  14. – Thorfin Punches a guy
    – Teddy: " Lets go fighter Thorfinn is back😄"
    – Teddy 1 second later seeing Thorfinns face and eyes are really "back" to his fighter self: "Oh… 😐"

  15. I think he dreamed about Einar as a kid because of Einar's story about their village being raided. And because Thorfinn participated in that sort of stuff, he feels somewhat guilty. And now he personally knows someone affected by the stuff that he did, that's why he's saw him in his dream. That's also I think why Thorfinn keeps seeing the face of the older woman that took care of him. They are actual people that he knows that were affected by Viking culture. And not just a random civilian, he actually knows them.

  16. Thorfinn being "an empty man", emphasizes on the metaphor you picked up back in ep2 "digging out tree roots" and now he's learning to love & appreciate things/other people.

  17. Sometimes you are vindictive, impatient ,rough in this reaction, but then you cry in these scenes , and i am like oh you has the empathy of a women still hahaha.

  18. Thorfinn wasn't the one who killed Einar's family, we clearly saw how his mom was shot by an arrow which Thorfinn never wielded as a weapon and his sister was slashed by another guy, plus in that nightmare they showed teen Thorfinn facing child Einar and thus it wouldn't make sense with the timeline. Thorfinn just considers himself no different than the ones who did and his guilt is haunting his nightmares making him envision himself as the one who did so.

  19. What is kind of crazy is how Thorfinn realized he wanted to live back when Snake attacked him. That was exactly the same thing Thorkell did to Canute in Season 1, to see if he was instinctively fearful of death, only Canute did not even blink.
Basically Canute has given up on life on a even deeper, fundamental level than Thorfinn even at his lowest, but is still acting as king, because he feels like he has to.

  20. I think it is more, his ptsd makes him felt guilt for done what he done. Knowing einar was affected by the raids, he felt personal guilt for it, thus visualizing einar as an defenceless child in his destructive dreams, letting the guilt eating him away.
