For those who are interested in reading along with the manga, this episode adapted the entirety of chapters 66 to 67.
In regards to the passage of time (the manga is more explicit about the dates) during this episode it’s supposed to be November 1015, so about a month has passed since the previous episode.
Also Yahweh is one of the names of the Abrahamic God, so if super religious American Christians objected to that, I think that would say more about their lack of education about their own faith than anything.
Arnheid being a comfort-woman/sex-slave to Ketil was also relatively easy to guess when she originally first introduced herself in episode 3 as Ketil’s “personal attendant”. Furthermore, the fact that Ketil is so attached to her implies that she likely has no option to buy her freedom, and likely expects to be a slave for life. Also even Einar was eyed by potential buyers as a sex-slave in episode 1 (though it was more explicit in the manga where the potential buyer even grabbed Einar’s junk as part of the “inspection process”).
Honestly they didn't need to put clothes on Arneihd in that scene in my opinion🤧
Honestly I felt most sorry for Arnheidt, being a sex slave and having to comfort a master while having to endure abuse from his wife.

Problem is if you dont give any punishment then other people will steal from the farm. But also they are just kids so it shouldnt be that big of a deal. Catch someone who isnt a kid and beat the shit out of him. I think the real problem is that thorgil is a real viking and if he realises his dad is a liar he may straight up just kill him and whose gonna stop him?
As much as this episode focused on Ketil and his family, we get a lot more insight into Snake and how he is similar to Askellad even more… he has a lot of pride in what he does ie protecting the farm, commands respect and authority over his men and stands a firm hand to his "master" ..

I think it's time they change Thorfinn's voice a bit, since he's becoming an Adult, the voice doesn't match his looks nowadays

I think what Ketil's Dad meant was you don't need so much land that you need a security detail for it. Just having enough farmland to support your family is fine.
personal thoughts on this episode
1. beating the kid on top of them working off the debt makes sense cuz they did commit a crime… I mean, I'd rather they worked off an extra collateral, but I guess they'd have to convince them to not steal somehow
