I do not own this video. This video is for entertainment purposes only.
Yeah… This episode was pretty weak, and for a LOT of reasons. The biggest thing for me was how they handled Legato…
my summary of W and Ls of this episode:
Vash: L (as usual)
Knives: L
Legato: L+
Wolfwood: L
Livio: L
Sassy the Beast: W++
Meril: W (first time)
Milly: W+++
Eldrica: W
Conrad: L+++
Rem: L
Tesla: W (first time ever)
Let's just be real Legato probably totally got off to being beheaded…
The series is finally starting to make me think "Wait, really? THAT'S what you're doing?" Some of the recent decisions have baffled me.
I don't think people who haven't read Trimax know how fucked up Legato's death was. Which makes it even more sinister imo.
Tldr : they killed stargaze Legato the same way Trimax Legato 's rapist was killed. (and weirdly enough, it's also a call back to Rem dream death in Stampede. Which is weird as hell…)
It made me sick. I can't believe they did that shit.
You're right in terms of episode length for this cour. Between Vash shooting to kill in the last episode and Rem's actions at the end of this episode, there should've been more time to let these twists breathe.
"You're… Really going to try and compress all of the source material into, into just two seasons?? Well, Stampede was actually pretty good even with the compression so maybe they'll pull it off…"
<Director-change commencing>
I admit, I can't feel as strongly as many other people have with Stargaze since I never read the manga – I read ABOUT IT after watching '98 when it finished airing and read about Maximum years later, but I never read it. So I enjoyed Stargaze for the most part, for what it was… But even I saw that there was so much more they could have done better. From an outsider's perspective, it wasn't terrible but it had so much wasted potential too.
Who knows, maybe if the shift in staff hadn't happened – maybe Stargaze would have been better? Or maybe it'd been more or less the same? Would it have been even worse? We may never know for sure, but they really should have split Stargaze into two seasons, or at least gave it more episodes than they did. It wouldn't have solved all the problems, but it'd have given time for their big changes and twists more time to really sink in.
Still, I really loved the bit with Meryl and Elendira – had to be the highlight of the episode for me.
Ofc a black woman would like this garbage made for a global audience
