“普通”がちょっとしんどい人へ｜違国日記/ LifeWork

「違国日記」を観ていて、すごく個人的に刺さったポイントがあります。

この作品って高校生の主人公の物語でもあるんだけど、正直それ以上に、保護者である小説家の存在が強く印象に残りました。

特に感じたのは、“言葉の使い方”です。
彼女の言葉にはちゃんと色があって、感情があって、そして愛情がこもっている。

原作漫画も素晴らしいけど、アニメではさらにその表現が強調されていて、
「言葉で人と距離を取る人が、それでも誰かを大切にしようとしている」
そのニュアンスがすごく伝わってきました。

中でもお葬式のシーン。
言葉を荒げる場面なのに、ただ感情的になるんじゃなくて、
あくまで“その人らしい言葉”で怒っている。

その孤高な感じ、でもどこか不器用で優しいところに、すごく惹かれました。

自分も何かを作る側の人間として、
「言葉の選び方ひとつで、こんなに人の印象や関係性が変わるんだな」と考えさせられました。

だからこれはただのストーリーとしてじゃなくて、
“表現する人間の物語”として、すごく心に残っています。

While watching The Diary of a Strange Land (Ikoku Nikki), there was something that personally resonated with me.

Although the story follows a high school girl, what left a stronger impression on me was actually her guardian—the novelist.

What stood out the most was her use of language.
Her words have color, emotion, and a deep sense of care.

The original manga is already great, but the anime adds another layer to it.
It really highlights the nuance of someone who keeps distance through words, yet still tries to care for others.

One scene that really struck me was the funeral scene.
Even when she raises her voice, it doesn’t feel like a loss of control.
She’s still choosing her words in a way that is uniquely hers.

There’s something admirable about that solitude—
and at the same time, a kind of clumsy kindness that makes her feel very human.

As someone who creates things myself,
it made me realize how much the choice of words can shape relationships and perception.

That’s why this didn’t feel like just a story to me,
but more like a story about people who express themselves.
