  1. Something the anime didn't get across properly, is that at the very last moment, after Gil's treasury is sealed, he also freezes as the hydra venom arrow is coming towards him. It's not just because he couldn't do anything, but he actively flinched in fear upon hearing True Berserker's cry. It's an important hint to her identity, as it shows she's someone that EVEN GIL is scared of.

  2. To make it more simple Gil had 2 keys. First is the main keys that he used to summon Ea, its always with him and its the higher authority ones capable of unlocking everything. While the key that Ishtar found and used is the spare key used as catalyst in episode 0 by the mage that summoned Gil originally & he later threw away after the mages died, it cant unlock GoB fully but it act as the front key to his gates.

Hence closing it at the right moments is Crucial, since Gil can just reopen it again with the main key if he is given time to regain his footing, which Ishtar ofc didnt let him have by doing a combo with True Berserker Scream that has been boosted by her as well to actually have an effect on Gil

  3. Well, if you want a depowered Gill forced to work with the bunch of misfit to defeat the big bad, it's already there, it's Fate Extra CCC if you chose the Gilgamesh road… ^_-

  4. 13:15 you guys didn’t cover the complete text of the Gil rule, which reads:
“Gil, to be referred to as “the king of jobbers” henceforth, shall remain as a primary antagonist until the completion of the plot i) unless destroyed, defeated, or otherwise dispatched by a stronger, more dangerous, or larger scale threat present in the story (see Heaven’s Feel, et al)”

  5. 13:10
"Gil doesn't get defeated till the end!"
Heaven's Feel would like a word with you

It's actually hilarious just how many people in this Holy Grail War have beef with the Golden King. Gill has so many haters, he gets jumped by a petty, vengeful goddess and two very pissed-off Servants.

  6. 15:31 Ishtar taking the key is only partially off screen. Her physically going to take it isn't shown, but in episode 0 we see Gil throw the key aside and leave it behind in the cave after his summoning. So to dome extent it was foreshadowed.

  7. Episode 10 is easily the worst episode of anime as an adaptation. You can kinda already see them cutting some corners by not adapting the second half of Richard's fight with Gilgamesh where he spams 20 Excaliburs in a row on top of the church and No name assassin not using her Zabania:unfeeling patrolling spirit's whitch summon's a lot of Jinnīya that takes forms of a lot of beast's and other mythological creatures, but instead they decited to show him getting shot by Sigma in the head whitch should not even work since he passively denies human creations….plus there's a lot of things that got changed like John appearing only at the very end and they didn't even explained how he survived,Gill dying without fighting back and honestly many more….at least remaining episodes are much better than that..

  8. in regards to Gilgamesh, just remember the golden rule of servants in fate:
IF THEY DON'T GLITTER AWAY, THEY ARE A-OKAY

  9. If you go back to when Gil was summoned and he threw away the key he says no man will be able to use it. But Ishtar isn’t a man in any sense of the word, sex or mortality.

  10. "Alive" Is a technically accurate description for Alcides. Hydra venom is no joke, especially for someone conceptually weak to it. It'll kill him if someone else doesn't get him first.

  11. it's really Strange and Fake that this is the first time they see Gilko
he's been around for over 2 decades and plays a major role in two main Fate titles, one of which is even considered required reading before Strange Fake lol

also keep in mind, this is written to be a parody of Fate, you can't expect characters to actually die here

  12. Episode 6 probably has the most information on the Red Riding Hood in the series up to this point. Brought up when they cut to the urban legend at a certain housing complex.
