I see this as a trick question, because while the answer is obviously "yes", the question is framed in a way where daring to answer that seems like it might result in instant punishment. So I wonder if it's having the sheer nerve to answer "yes" that Gil is seeking. Of course, in just a few words, the attitude of both speakers becomes clear, so no matter what Tine's answer was, I feel pretty sure the old guy wasn't walking out of there with a Servant. And if not Tine, then probably some other member of her clan, at least temporarily.
