I’m actually really sad that after the first arc (which would probably be equivalent to the first season of the anime) the monkeys never show up again (at least, until around, like, Chapter 728 of the web novel). It makes the entire fight with the big boss monkey seem kinda pointless in the grand scheme of things. Plus, they don’t even outwardly state that it’s the same batch of monkeys: Allo and Treant doesn’t know about Illusia’s early Noah’s Forest days, and both Treant and the lead monkey kept on talking about the “dragon boss” when they don’t even know they’re talking about the exact same guy! Anyways, even bigger spoiler: one of the biggest things that I 100% wanted to see was an Illusia Myria reunion after arc 1 when Illusia gets swept to the Harunae desert and then a whole bunch of stuff happens. Illusia did save Myria in Alban while in his human transformation, but left without saying anything. He saves Myria again as an Ouroboros the very next day when fighting with all the slimes, however instead of saving and talking to her himself, he lets Allo and Nightmare do it instead. And then after Illusia escapes the Ngai forest and kills Jornes (the first Voice of God spirit servant he defeats), and for once he’s actually celebrated by the people he saved, he sees Myria, says a single word: “Sorry” and flipping dips. And I’m aware that after Myria and Black Lizard is actually heading towards him while Illusia is going berserk because of doomsday tone, but that’s where all the english translators have stopped. Personally, I’m hoping that through the power of friendship, Nina, Myria and all of Illusia’s companions can stop him from destroying everything, that he doesn’t have to waste Butterfly Dream because of this, and that HE AND MYRIA CAN HAVE A PROPER CONVERSATION!! Sorry, I sort of dumped a lot of spoilers here.
8:20 It’s too bad he didn’t acquire the “telepathy” ability like the previous clan leader. But I guess that would make things too convenient and the story would lose some plot tensions.

Evolving midfight might be a bad idea, since his level resets, and with that, his base status lowers until he get some levels!

No you're right, he reached max level for his current evolution. He just hasn't picked the next one yet. Remember he was just telling the system to shut up after he levelled.
