"Even if I'm wrong, it doesn't make it right that our tables are overflowing with blood." This is true, and it was good that Gare said that. He was never going to be seen as a hero right off the bat, he wasn't aiming to, he's thinking about the the far future, even though we can't know how that will turn out. But he still said all kinds of great genuine things this episode, he was very careful with what he said, trying to make the most positive difference he could for the animals he wants to protect.
