1. I wonder if it's the case of Asa being so dependent on her mom's decisions. And maybe it's too early to say but what if her mother was subconsciously controlling. She'd say "choose for yourself", but once Asa does make a choice, she's met with snide remark hidden in a caring tone. That's why when she bought that laptop and Makio got in trouble for it, she immediately felt bad about taking the initiative. Or maybe I'm just being too suspicious of the mom…
