I was extremely pissed off at the ending in the first season, and refused to watch second season when it came out. Based on peoples comments under anime who explained what's going on and that in manga it is a loop of many sad endings I gave up on this anime even thou quality is phenomenal. I did not expect it to have a happy ending. This is a surprise. Maybe I should watch second season now.
Those who are confused. They kinda made a shortcut here. In the LN..They still continue to fight and destroy the artifacts for like thousands of years.
