Tracing can be useful as practice, but it’s not the same as sketching or building up a drawing from scratch. If you keep tracing without sketching, you won’t really improve your line control or proportions on your own. I’d encourage you to try making some sketches without tracing, it’ll help you develop your own style and confidence in your art
