Well. This is just my opinion about the Kuro-tachi: For Othello. It is in Wolf nature to surround the enemy. For Chess. Strategy is survival for the wolf to live in a wild. Whereas for Mahjong. Aside from understanding the rules, and able to strategize, the wolf can smell so they probably would know which suit tiles would be the correct one to be pick when they are upsides downs.
