Hey, guys, what is going… …on location out here
in Bali, Indonesia. And today,
I’m going to be answering questions about my trip to Indonesia. Unfortunately, today is my last day in Indonesia. I am in Kuta, Bali, Indonesia today. And you guys were nice enough
to send me a bunch of comments and messages on Instagram, asking me questions about my trip. And I wanted to answer those
for you today. So go ahead and subscribe to the channel
if you have not. Give this video a like, leave a comment. And find out some information
about this awesome trip that I’ve had in Indonesia. I wanted to start off with a question
that I got from a couple of people. That was why I came to Indonesia, and is it my first time here? So the answer is that… – Hey!
– Hey! The answer is that I did come here before Covid. I just came to Bali and did Bali stuff. Just kind of hung out. And I always wanted to go back
and check out Java. I always thought that
would be so cool. And so I made a plan. I was going to do it. And then I waited the whole year. I said this in the August 17th episode. I waited the entire year, excited
to get here because I wanted to get here
for Independence Day. I’m super happy that I did. That was a… That was awesome.
That was a lot of fun. Whoa! Oh man! Oh! This guy! – So, then, he can stay?
– The… – The champion. The winner, the winner.
– Oh! It was great to to see all the games and meet some people right off the bat. And, yeah, that was why I came. When I was in Malang, I realized after I shot the first Jatim Park episode that I wasn’t going to be able to tell you which one was my favorite
in one of those episodes. Because I didn’t know
which one would be the last one. So, I will tell you now. I actually went to the third one first,
then second one, and then the first one because of the weather and just from
my experience, I think Jatim Park 3 was
the most fun. If you watched that, you know
there was a rainstorm. There’s just a lot of stuff to do. There was maybe six
different things that I did. Whoa! Whoa. Whoa! We’re getting close! Oh, it’s never going to
make it up there! Next would be Jatim Park 2.
The zoo was incredible. Oh, woah! – I want to be in the middle. I want to be
in the middle. I want to be in the middle. – I want to be in the middle.
Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! – I want to be in the middle!
Mom! Mom! Mom! – Mom! Mom! Mom!
Mom! Mom! And Jatim Park 1. Also fun! Oh man! It was three fun days in a row. I’m super happy I went to them. Thank you guys for suggesting that that. Someone who is not Indonesian asked about scams in Indonesia. Like what should you do to avoid scams? And I don’t think there was anything particularly special or unique about the scams out here. A lot of it just know your prices. People are going to
maybe try to overcharge you or something. I had an incident last night, which is funny. Well, not funny. But in a previous video,
the panoramic train, I had some confusion in the comments
because I said, “some guy grabbed my phone and ran off
to give me a ticket.” I didn’t find my ticket. Amateur move. And I’m late. So some guy grabbed my phone and ran off. What I meant was one of the
people working there took my phone because I
was running late and ran because it had
the number. And he got me a ticket. So he didn’t see my phone. – Oh, that’s my ticket? Hey! (My Phone) – Thank you, man. – Platform 4.
– Platform 4? But last night, I did get my phone grabbed and taken by some motor bikers
out here. And that’s just,
you know, it’s unfortunate. It happens everywhere in the world. Especially, in a place like Bali where there’s a lot of tourists.
There’s a lot of opportunities. And I unfortunately gave them
a golden opportunity as I was just walking back to my hotel. It was the middle of the night.
Maybe, like, one in the morning or midnight,
or at one in the morning. Listening to music on a dark street,
not tourist area. And scrolling through my phone
like an idiot. So one thing that happens in Bali is a lot of
Grab (Uber) drivers or just people will stop
and then ask you if you need a ride. And so that happened about
15 times because I’m just walking home
for an hour. And the 16th time
a motorcycle came up to me, slowed down, and I just figured
they were going to ask, “Oh, do you want a ride?” But, nope… They grabbed my phone
and took off. It’s not the end of the world. It’s a hassle. I would say don’t be dumb
like the Travel Lord was last night. That’s a good way to avoid some scams. All right. So we’re at Seminyak Beach here. We’re going to take a look around. As you already
know, Bali is just gorgeous. It’s a beautiful place in the world. I mean, look at this. So I did want to address what some of you guys had asked me, which is: why is Bali so much more
popular than Java? And I’m going to maybe say the most unpopular opinion ever,
I don’t know. I like Java. I like Java more. Bali is great. I mean, it’s cool. And this doesn’t have anything
to do with my my phone. That was my fault.
That could have happened anywhere. But this is just a vacation spot for a lot of people. I mean, look at this. So people just come out here to get away from their life
and relax and have some beers,
maybe go on a yoga retreat. But, I mean, there’s also a
big community of foreigners that live here as well. So all of that kind of changes what it is. in Java, I’m going around
high fiving people. – How are you guys?
– Good. – Good? – All right, high fives. – Yeah, high five everybody. – All right, high five. I’m just not as big of a fan of the tourist locations, the vacaation locations as a spot
that’s a little more natural. And so, yeah. So to go along with that question, another person asked, what is something that Indonesia can do
to get more tourists to Java. And, I mean, Bali is very attractive if you’re coming to surf. If you just want to party
and drink beer on the beach and all that stuff, like a vacation island,
like I said. I think it has a lot to do
with the marketing. And I’ll give you an example. I was in the coffee shop
here in Bali, and there was an older guy
who was from San Francisco, USA. We talked a bit and I said, I just spent the last seven weeks traveling through Java seeing the sights.
And I was talking about how amazing it is. And he’s like… And he… This might
just be kind of an American thing. He was not sure where Java even was. Or I don’t think he knew
that it was part of Indonesia. And I was like, oh no, it’s right here. It’s right over there. I took a bus from,
you know, Java to get here. He said, “Oh, okay.” So I would say it has a
lot to do with the marketing. Bali is just one of the most known places in the world that people
from all over the world come to, to, you know, do nothing. Just hang out. Or do yoga or surf or, you know,
just get modeling pictures for Instagram. So I don’t know. I don’t know if I’m contributing anything, but I wanted to, with the vlog, show more than just Bali. I wanted to show Java and what’s going on in Indonesia
because, man, some of the views on Java. The best views I’ve seen. The danger, swimming prohibited flags are up, but a lot of people are still getting in the water a bit. I will use that
to lead into this question. Someone asked,
what was the most magnificent thing that you saw in Indonesia? And I will say,
it may not come as a surprise, the magnificent and dangerous thing
was Mount Bromo. Holy cow! I’m happy I went there. That was just extremely interesting. Even the sound. The sound that the volcano made. Let’s take a look. Oh, dang. Just this deep sound that ‘s coming from the depths
of the earth. That was nuts.
I really enjoyed that. And I… And I would highly recommend going to Mount Bromo
if you get the chance. Oh. What’s this? Rendang Padang… This might be a good time
to talk about the food questions. So I did go with the Rendang Padang, which is a beef. And, it’s much more expensive
than in Java, that’s for sure. But equally as delicious. So one question was, will I miss Indonesian food? Absolutely. I’d had some before, but I didn’t realize just how much there was and how good everything that I ate was. So then an obvious question that
many people ask is, what’s my favorite? And that’s a very hard question, actually. Rendang is way up there. Even like, Soto Betawi, stuff like that. Sate. Mie Ayam is very good. And I made videos of those. I will say, I can’t say a favorite, but… The food that I ate the most over the two months
that I traveled was Rawon. – This is…? – Yeah, okay. Okay. – What is it?
– Okay. – It’s a big chip.
– Yeah. Woah! – No this is… This is enough.
– Okay. – That’s a huge chip.
– Okay. All right. – What is this? – This goes in here? – Yeah. – All right. All right. – Thank you.
– Okay, okay. And I… I mean, it’s delicious. I don’t think I meant to have it
more than any other one. But when I saw it on the menu,
I was like, “oh, that’s good.” I also really liked, even though I cried a lot, the spices. – Hello?
– Hello. – Can I order food still?
– Yes. Your order? – Mie Komplit.
– Okay. – Level 5.
– Level 5? – Yeah. It’s good? – Spicy! – I will try it. It is not the first time I’ve
cried in Indonesia… …and probably not the last. The spiciness, the peanut sauce, everything, man. Everything was so good. I love the Indonesian cuisine. You guys got it made out here. Oh man. There’s a bit of a traffic issue out here in Bali. But not for me. The sun is starting to go down,
so we got to head back to the beach. One question that I was asked
is, what was the most shocking thing about the Indonesian culture? And… I’m gonna just. I’ll be honest. I’m not making this up. The friendliness of everybody. Like, Holy cow!
I’m not gonna let one bad incident with my phone
overshadow how awesome and welcoming
everyone else had been while I was here. – That one. Yeah? – Mie Ayam is also good.
– Mie Ayam. I heard I’ve got to eat that too. – You already ate? – No, I didn’t eat anything today. – I’m so hungry. – Okay. – You want to eat Mie Ayam?
– Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. – Okay, I’ll show you.
– Mie Ayam. So I’m just following this guy. – Hello. – One Mie Ayam?
– Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. – For you. – Yeah. You want one? – No.
– No? Okay. – I’ll have one later. – Later? Okay. I’ll get one. Everybody just will say hi to me, you know, when I’m on camera,
when I’m off camera. They come over and just start
talking to me. I can talk to anybody.
Everybody’s smiling. That was definitely… That’s not just in every country. And especially vlogging. People were just really willing
to come up and be on camera and talk and all that. So I would say that is my answer. We are back at the beach, but coming in at a different part. The sun is on its way down. And I need to answer the question
about the trains. I think if you watched all three of the
train videos that I did, you would know my favorite was the Panoramic Train. Wow! Wow! Look at this! Just stunning views in West Java. Amazing stuff. I think next time I would take that the whole way. I would… It’s expensive,
but I would pay for Jakarta to Surabaya And I’d love to see East Java because in East Java
we got some views, man. My second favorite, I would say, was the Whoosh train. Oh, that looks nice. That looks pretty sweet. I’m changing my score. I’m giving it a 13 out of 10. That looks really aerodynamic. I’m not an engineer, but… I thought that was pretty cool. Very smooth. Easy. Very quick. I mean, you get to Bandung in,
you know, 40 minutes. Very cool. And the Compartment Train! Oh, yeah! Oh, yes. All right. I mean, the Compartment Train
is awesome. It’s not like third place. Like it sucks. I really had a good trip
on the Compartment Train. I do think it’s pretty expensive for the trip. I still had a great time.
I still loved it. So, if you want to try any of those, I would recommend all three. And if you don’t, you can just watch the videos. It seems like they’re very similar setups
all down the beach. They’ve got the beanbag chairs
and then a stand with two guitarists and a drummer. Everybody’s warming up. I think the sun is going down. I was hoping it would get to the horizon, but it’s ducking behind the cloud here. Quite a few people have come out to see the… Oh, that’s risky… They just left their purse. Well, good luck with that. So I did want to answer
one more question that I was asked. Am I done with Indonesia? And the answer is no. I mean, I am leaving tomorrow,
but I have to. My visa is up. But it’s an enormous place. I basically got to
two islands of the 17,000. So there’s more to see. I mean, you guys have been telling me. Sumatra. Kalimantan. Papua. Lombok. Flores. Like, there’s a lot of places that
I really, really, really want to get to. And… And I plan on it. I do plan on coming back. This just happened to be about Java, but there will be more. So thank you for being so welcoming, Indonesia. And showing me such a good time out here. I really, really, really enjoyed it. And as the sun goes down, so does this episode. Please subscribe. Give this video a Like. Leave a comment. I will see you in the next episode.

After traveling around Java for 2 months, you guys asked me questions about my trip. Here are my answers!

About traveling through Java and Bali, Indonesia:
Traveling through Java and Bali offers an unforgettable blend of cultural richness, natural beauty, and local hospitality. Java, Indonesia’s most populous island, is full of contrasts — from the chaotic energy of Jakarta to the serene temples of Yogyakarta. Visitors can hike up active volcanoes like Mount Bromo at sunrise, explore ancient Buddhist sites like Borobudur, and wander through vibrant street food markets bursting with flavor and color. The island’s train system makes travel between major cities scenic and surprisingly efficient.
Bali, on the other hand, feels like a different world. Known as the Island of the Gods, it’s famous for its lush rice terraces, surf-ready beaches, and deeply spiritual culture. Travelers can experience traditional dance performances, participate in a purification ritual at a temple, or relax in a tranquil jungle villa. From the party vibes of Canggu and Seminyak to the artistic soul of Ubud and the raw natural beauty of North Bali, there’s something for every type of traveler.
What makes the journey special is not just the sights, but the people who share it. Locals in both Java and Bali are warm, curious, and often excited to share their stories. Whether it’s sipping coffee with a vendor in a mountain village or chatting with a surfer at the beach, it’s these small moments that leave a lasting impression.
This journey isn’t just about exploring islands — it’s about discovering a deeper connection with Indonesia’s heart and soul.

  4. Super nice review about Indonesia. Bro.. 🥰👍👍👍 After you renew your Visa.. you can go back to Indonesia and start from Sumatra (Lake Toba and Bukit Lawang "Orang Hutan"), Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Lombok and Papua (Raja Ampat). Now you are only 20% exploring the beautiful and unique places in Indonesia. Indonesia has 6000 types of delicious food that you can try and enjoy. 700 different cultures and languages and are super friendly. What you experienced about your lost phone is only 0.5% of what happened in Indonesia and you just need to be more vigilant. I am sure the more you make videos about Indonesia, the more viral and trending your social media will be because the Indonesian population is One Of the largest and has the most social media in the world. Hopefully you feel at home and like Indonesia and can introduce Indonesia to the world. IINDONESIA is WONDERLAND. Thank you very much Bro..🙏👍👍👍🥰

  5. Kita sendiri orang lokal saja mempertimbangkan keamanan dalam membawa hp …..tidak hanya untuk turis karena mereka datang jika ada kesempatan

  6. I hope you will comback to indonesia and explore sumba (another paradise that many bules said), komodo island (labuan bajo), and sulawesi and make content for it. 7. Thank you for visiting Indonesia and making a lot of nice videos about it. I am happy that you have good experience in general here. I hope you have save trip when you leaving Indonesia. See you soon again in Indonesia next time!

  8. If you can speak Indonesian, then in Java you will feel at home, can mix with the local people, share stories and have good moments, and forget where you were born, especially if you can speak the local language fluently, then you will not want to go back home.😂😂😂

  9. 21:21See you in the next episode of 'Indonesia'.. remember, August 17th is coming soon.. it might be an interesting & exciting start to start a new adventure [2025] in Indonesia.

    I'm waiting for the vlog…!

By the way, thank you for everything, despite our shortcomings.. whatever happens there must be a lesson.. 🙏 🟥⬜

  10. There were 3 young men from America and Italy. Initially they were just on holiday in Bali. Then they finally decided to travel from the east of Java to the western tip of Java and then crossed over to the island of Sumatra.Up to the zero point of Sumatra on Sabang Island, Aceh… they used motorbikes… they got sponsorship from one of the motorbike manufacturers in Indonesia, Kawasaki, until finally they were invited to one of the… Private television station…they have a channel called The Lost Boys..

  11. From Bali can travel by fast boat to 3 Gili islands then cross to lombok island then labuan bajo in flores island to go to komodo island.

  12. As non Balinese Indonesian, I might say that the differenced are:
    1. Marketing, as you have said.
    2. The size of the 2 islands, Bali is smaller and easier to visit them all. Java island is bigger, and all the attractions are in different cities which aren't close to each other.
    3. The locals. People in Bali mostly Hindu already accustomized with tourists and they are not really worry with the way tourist dress. On the other hand , in Java they don't see tourists everyday so, when they see they will put some attention.

  13. Thank you for promoting Java, I’m glad you’re one of YouTuber who understand what traveling really means, it get to where I got really tired of the Goverment only promoting Bali overseas for decades, and pump prob, billion dollars only for single island. seriously Indonesia not just Bali no offense to Balinese, Java is more than Bali has to offer, the only thing differences is, Bali is more convenience for tourist, i said tourist not traveler yeah bc there’s differences. Java have better infrastructure and different type of transportation to go travels, different cultures, natural site and places to go from beaches, mountains , lakes, river, ancient structures, etc.
One other thing what makes westerner avoid other islands bc outside Bali are predominantly Muslim , mainstream media in the west for decades give negatives sentiment towards Muslim and that’s why westerner tourist/travelers avoid visiting java/sumatra, etc they assumed outside Bali is gonna be just like Middle East, the way people live and how Law are applied. This is what I heard bc I’m my self living in the US for years.

  14. In my opinion these are what Indonesia could do better to improve tourism:

    1. Better trash collection, recycling, and processing. You can’t unsee the amount of trash everywhere, even in tourist sites. I’m ashamed how much trash lying around. It ruins the natural beauty that Indonesia has. The government needs to provide better services, AND the people need to stop throw their litters carelessly.

    2. Local public transport. Outside of Jakarta public transport is non existent. There’s grab and gojek yes, but public transport would not only provide better experience for tourists, but also to local residents in the form of better mobility, reduced congestion, and better air quality.

    3. Better intercity public transportation. The rail in Java has drastically improved, but there are still gaps in services. You shouldn’t need to hire a private Jeep to go from Malang to Bromo national park. There’s enough demand to justify for bus and gondola services. Plus, rail needs to be improved in other major islands like Bali and Sumatra.

    4. Better global outreach. Bali is known household name in the US, but too many people don’t even know it’s in Indonesia or even know that Indonesia exists. Indonesia should connect better with its diaspora. Indonesia could follow Thai model of marketing through supporting Thai restaurants abroad. How is it that my Midwest metro of 250K has more Thai restaurants than there are Indonesian restaurants in Manhattan with 1.6M population? Indonesian cuisine is just as good as Thai with even more diversity, it’s sad that many people have not had the chance to experience it.

  15. its universal common sense, "dont be dumb". Some other naive tourist, think they get scam, but in reality they asked to get scam, they be act so dumb, its almost a sin to not scam them.

  16. Just watch your last day in Indonesia. I'm Indonesian lived in Arizona, USA.
So sorry that somebody snatched your phone. I really am.
I thank you for promoting Java since I come from Bandung.

  17. jangan berjalan terlalu malam.
