[Music] good morning guys excuse the face well no makeup is this one of those days uh we’re going to be doing that a bit later because I going to get a shower and stuff a bit later on uh but if you’re new here guys I’m Sandy and I live in my Sprinter van with my husband Tim at the moment he’s away uh working to keep us on the road you know how it goes and I am solo we’re in the middle of the big lap but was kind of stationary in Brisbane because we’re doing a few little upgrades to our van if you haven’t seen those go check them out i reckon we’ve nailed the layout now guys nailed it all right so at the moment I’m at Kin Bombi Falls sorry if I say that wrong i say stuff wrong all the time i get it in the comments i really do apologize i I do try my best but the names of places there’s silent letters everywhere in places either that or I don’t know how to speak but one or two so we are going to go check out the falls and I don’t think it’s a very big walk from where I am but there is an RV camp right next to it so going to finish my coffee and then we’re off papa you’re so cute buddy you enjoying the sun he loves just loves sitting in the sun good boy [Music] so this place where I’m staying has loads of room for everybody you’ve als you’ve got kind of separate little sections and you’re allowed to campfires it’s funny because last little trip out here I didn’t I brought firewood everywhere I went no fires i took the firewood out everywhere I’ve been so far you’re allowed fires murphy’s law but uh there are toilets here they are drop toilets I believe i haven’t been in there as yet this is a nice little area now I’m not sure if these uh falls are going to be running because it hasn’t rained but we’ll see but there Yeah it looks looks quite dangerous actually but we’ll see there’s steps brilliant let’s give it a go guys i find it really hard to talk when I know there’s campers around and they’re sleeping or I don’t want to make too much noise so sorry if I’m a little bit quiet oh there’s two ways to go look out on trail 3 track length 110 m elevation change 25 okay let’s do the others on my days there’s too many options there’s Lookout 2 oh I can see Lookout too maybe we should go out there track length 55 m elevation change 10 right trail one trail three oh dear okay let’s go out here first that’s not too bad let’s do it if you can see guys the sun’s right in my way but I think that’s the falls there not huge but you can Let me zoom out see there’s the steps there we can actually go around the other walk and go down there i think that’s what we’re going to do sorry about the light i think the sun’s just in the wrong spot for this little lookout it’s right in my face and everywhere everywhere down there just looks dark so uh let’s head up [Music] these steps are quite steep um I’m going to take this jacket off in a sec probably not the best idea to wear a long sleeve shirt hey but it was cold out of the sun typical eh [Music] that water there looks green but I think it’s just the uh algae but the water’s actually clear you know what I mean cuz you can see the algae on the rock but the water’s clear out i’m not sure if people are sitting there i don’t think I would but same on the other side the waterfall is that way but you can see um the massive pool of water down here it’s bright green it’s actually pretty in its own way but there’s a rope just there uh where people I guess is swimming in there or is that just to get out on that side i’m not sure i don’t think I’ll be swimming down there but I can hear another waterfall down that way so we’ll walk that way and have a look this way oh my days I’m so careful on these rocks don’t worry Mom my mom’s always saying “Don’t go in there.” I’m fine i can hear the waterfall i cannot see it from this angle and I guess you just go down to that rock there and when you’re down there I don’t want to climb down there by myself i would if Tim was here but I’m not going to cuz what if I can’t get back up so let’s get back to the van and I’ll tell you what we’re up to i didn’t bring the controller to the drone either i just brought the little handheld i won’t need I won’t need the controller i could have drowned down there anyway moving off you can only carry so much though guys you can only carry so much hold that thought i found a way down it’s only a tiny waterfall but it’s cute [Music] i’m wondering how deep that is and how far that goes down anyway let’s get back to the bed [Music] oh gosh guys so this the reason why I had to leave this place i actually really love it here it’s It was quite peaceful last night and oh the sky was beautiful there is a lot of trees so I had to strategically park to get internet um so I was sort of in a clearing hello Puddle come here come here i’ll help you come here you want to go up there or you want to Okay sort the dog out sorry about that yeah so the reason why I have to leave here um is because I’m a bit worried about power um we’re down to Let’s see i think it’s 36% at the moment which isn’t terrible i mean we’ve got a lithium battery but there is a show ground nearby that I’m going to plug into just for today uh I’m I don’t know why I don’t think we’ll bring enough solar it is winter there has been a few overcast days and yeah I’m not too sure the only thing run that runs off that is two fridges and Starink but you know Starink’s only on for a few hours in a night but anyway guys uh let’s head off and we’ll go to the showgrounds and we’ll plug in and uh show you around there because the showground is actually a place called now is it Gary or Grimary who knows but let’s go pablo are you ready to go to show ground son are you ready you look pumped mate i don’t like having to go and plug in so I’ve talked to Tim he’s going to have a look at the solar going to have a look at what we can do to minimize this i think I’m I’m not turning the freezer and that down so I’m Anyway let’s go to the showgrounds [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all right this place is right in town it’s actually a really really good position and it’s $25 per night i’m not sure if that’s because I had power cuz I think I read 20 but that was on Wiki Camps and you know it’s not always 100% uh $25 but I really do need power ah the joys of rain and it’s raining today guys it just started spitting as pure Sand Van style all right let’s get plugged in and then uh yeah let’s get plugged in let’s get plugged in [Music] i’m actually not sure if you need to unravel the whole thing or not tim says it could get hot so you probably should leave us let us know in the comments do you do you unravel the whole thing maybe I should get a shorter one a little 5 m cord all right we are all plugged in now um I tell you what if it wasn’t for these all powers I would have run out of power completely this isn’t an ad or anything i’m just grateful because our battery got down to 38% oh actually I think it was lower than that i think it was 30 by the time I left that campsite this morning and uh we actually are trying out the uh all powers 2500 watt as you know we’ve got the little tiny one which is really portable we can carry it everywhere it is fantastic but we’ve been trying out the 2500 watt uh because we wanted something a little bit bigger as well as a little portable one so what I’m going to do now I have been trying it out so over the last 4 days now I’ve been trying the uh massive power bank out and so far it’s gotten down to maybe 45% but I’ve got loads of charges off it i’ve got like four laptop charges and an air fryer run and all that sort of stuff so what I’m going to do is I’m going to run it i want to see what I can get out of it guys so I’m going to make dinner with it tonight and do everything I can to run it down to zero so I can plug it back in and I want to see how it goes guys if you haven’t got a power station All Powers is the way to go we’ve actually got two of them and I wouldn’t go without if you want one of these guys we have a discount code we have a 10% discount code using the code TSV and I’ll put a link below for you but this honestly this is not an I we have had no we had no sun and the the power’s just drained from our our van um let me bring you closeup i’m not sure what to do about that whether it’s our solar or what it is i I just don’t know uh Tim’s going to have a look at our solar and make sure it’s connected properly or connected a different way connect the batteries a different way uh but anyway so I’m not going to drag you through charging our van because it’s like watching paint dry and we’ve all been there so I’ll pick you up tomorrow where I’ll take you through Gumary or Goomery i’ll work out how to say this before tomorrow um and and I think we are going to go to a winery it is South Bernett wine region so it’ be rude not to wouldn’t it see you tomorrow good morning guys as you can see I’ve freshened up hairs washed blow dried cuz we had power last night we are actually sitting at 100% you do not see that often even when plugged in you usually like unplug at about 99 it’s like cool so we’re ready to go um I would show you around here but we don’t It’s just a showground right so there’s one shower um toilets laundry dump point it’s got everything you need here i am at Gummery or Gumary uh showgrounds but today we are heading off to a winery because it’d be rude not to right we’re in a wine region and uh I haven’t been to one in a while i don’t think I’ve been to one since Oh what is was it Tazzy was it that long ago let’s go guys let’s go [Music] [Applause] [Music] but first guys I took a little detour and I found a pretty good day spot to be honest i might leave the winery for a couple of hours and just chill out here we are at the We are at the BC Peterson Dam and it is gorgeous how you like it fella there’s a nice view nice view fella you know you’re facing the wrong way the view The view’s out there view’s out there bud [Music] booyah booy [Music] my little drone unfortunately uh was like “High wind warning come down.” So I got a little bit of shots for you but I might just sit here have a little bit to eat and then we’ll head off to the winery uh I don’t want to head to the winery too early because you know you don’t want to seem too keen i’ll pick you up at the winery guys just an update guys on the uh All Powers i ran it down last night and here is the stats on what it actually took um to run that thing down um it took five and a fifth laptop charges an air fryer running at 75 minutes at 200° so that’s an hour and 15 minutes four phone chargers one electric toothbrush and one Apple Watch and I am quite impressed i’m using it again today for brunch I suppose and um absolutely love it link below [Music] I have to say I’m impressed with this place already it’s like a little village with a tavern a winery Salador uh restaurant welcome to Dusty Hill Irish Tavern i think I want to go to the winery though but let’s have a quick look oh how nice is this look at the greenery oh my word dog friendly too i’ve noticed is also look there’s little cabins you can stay at just through the way there how beautiful is this place wow [Music] [Music] [Music] look at that place over there i believe they do weddings here as well and what a what a backdrop what it’s amazing scenery i’d say this building behind me is where the wedding reception would be held it’s sort of done up that way a bar in there sort of a private place stunning [Music] before it starts to feel i will burn it down what a beautiful winery it is definitely a wedding venue let me get out of that sun it’s definitely wedding venue there’s a chapel behind which I can’t walk around there because it says no entry but and it’s just beautiful nice little white chapel there’s accommodations nearby there’s grape vines as far as the I can see and just some lovely staff and beautiful wine tasting area so thumbs up to Dusty Hill Winer who knew this was here absolutely loved it i wish I could stay and uh have a few drinks and I’ve already eaten cuz I didn’t want to spend any money but I’ve got to drive this is what happens when Tim’s not here i can’t like sail down and chill out like like that but anyway pubble settled in uh we’re just about to leave here but uh thank you so much for uh coming with me for the last couple of days it’s been a pleasure to take you around this beautiful area who knew it was so pretty out here i was talking to Tim last night we’re saying “Oh you sort of don’t think anything’s out here.” But every little town out there everything has a secret every everywhere has a little hidden gem and I reckon the South Bernett region wine region is one of them there’s some beautiful wineries I passed on the way here as well and uh I’m looking forward to coming back out here again but thank you so much for making it this far and please subscribe if you haven’t already and we will see you next time and Tim will be back hooray we’ll see you then see you [Music]

We’re Sandy, Tim, and Pablo—travelling Australia in our self-built Sprinter van. Join us for vanlife, travel, and Big Lap adventures around the country.
I thought I had this vanlife thing sorted… but once again, I found myself plugging in. 😩
In this episode, I head to the peaceful Kinbombi Falls for a bit of nature and solitude — it’s such a beautiful free camp spot with rugged cliffs and a quiet vibe. But of course… my house battery had other plans. With power running low (again), I had to give in and find somewhere to plug in. Honestly, I’m so over it!
To lift my spirits, I stopped by Dusty Hill Vineyard — and it did not disappoint. Good wine, a lovely atmosphere, and the kind of place that makes vanlife feel magical again.

Hi Sandy, loved the video and glad the water was running at the falls. The town is pronounced Goo-meri and is a great little stop off for cafes and pub. It's also the intersection to head towards Gympie or north towards Ban Ban Springs. I'm guessing it was mid week at the dam as it didn't seem to be very busy.
Good to know there's an Irish pub as hubby will most likely grab a Kilkenny next time we're up that direction.
Catch you on the next video. Juanita and Allan
Just demonstrating once again that you don’t need an expensive drone to get cinematic shots.
Such beautiful views and I love waterfalls so much.
Hi Tim and Sandy
Hi Sandy Tim and Pablo I’ve gone back and looked at your first van white and green you didn’t like it.
I like the Blue and White gee you both have come a long way.
Love your new style in the van. As you say can always change ideas. I’m meant to get my first van this week see how we go doing a basic one. I picked up some draws like yours they look great. Happiest time of our lives. We all need happiness.
Hi Sandy, You nailed it for pronouncing Kinbombi and your second go at Goomeri was pretty close as well. old fella from Goomeri.
Hi Sandy 👋🏻 My god the scenery you and Tim capture is stunning. You guys are living the outdoor dream ❤️
Goomeri pronounced (Goomary) you got it, BP Dam is nice, but I prefer to camp at Boondooma Dam out past Proston as you can camp right down near the water for unpowered ($14) p/n or I think $16 for power in the powered sites. We go out there a couple times a year for a week. There are a few wineries in the South Burnett but I think some have now closed, Dusty Hill is a bit exy in price for meals but a nice outlook for a special occasion. Please don't camp at Murgon free camp near IGA as the local indigenous kids often hang around there and throw rocks at campers. Cheers
You can ask Siri to help with pronunciations.
Better still, ask Wikipedia. 👍🏻🙏🦘
It sounds like you need an extra solar panel on the roof. I have 2 X 380w panels so I can charge my power pack faster than if I plug into the mains. Overpanelling is the way to go so that on dull days or in Winter you can still charge quickly. Just check that your Allpower units can handle the input, as some power packs have a low maximum solar input. You might need to change the wiring (from series to parallel) to possibly get around amp or volt limits with your power packs.

We love your channel thanks for sharing and we your dog publo
Do you ask the locals how to pronounce the names of places you are visiting?
Hi Sandy and Tim and little Pablo from Nanna di in Mildura
Your house battery should be charging when you are driving. We have a DC to DC charger putting in 40amps while we are driving but I'm sure even without one your alternator should be charging the house battery.
I feel compelled to say 'you never regret a swim' 😂
Haven't seen baked beans cooked that way for a long time. I used to do them until I heard about TIN poisoning. Since then, I microwave or cook on the stovetop in a suitable container.
Your battery packs are interesting. I use KINGS. I like the jump starter where if you run the main battery down this will jump start the engine (left lights on sitting inside on a wet and windy day for probably an hour and a half (90mins).
We used to stay at the Goomeri showgrounds. You've camped at some lovely spots. Take care, travel safe. Cheers..
You really have the life Sandy, some really beautiful spots. Take care and see you soon. 🥰
