[Music] have you ever wanted an anime that doesn’t shout at you with explosions or high stakes battles but instead whispers calm wisdom in this case with the clink of a perfectly poured drink then Bartender Glass of God might be the hidden gem they’ve been waiting for Bartender isn’t your typical anime It follows Ryu Sakura a genius bartender with an almost mythical ability to craft the perfect drink for each of his customers But it’s not just about the alcohol It’s about the people their stories their struggles and how a single well-made cocktail can unlock something deeper This is five reasons to consider watching the anime Bartender: Glass of God Reason number one to watch Bartender is that the show is simply soul soothing This anime is the definition of a healing show also known as a nashik which is a Japanese genre focused on relaxation and often depicting peaceful and calming stories I’ll admit the trailer didn’t interest me being primarily an isekai and shownen viewer but I’m glad I gave it a chance I mean those animes come at you loud fast and hard and can be overwhelming But Bartender slows it all down and invites you into quiet conversations beautiful background music and gentle moments of reflection It’s like therapy anime form with ice cubes and bitters Might I add this show has one of the most beautiful intro songs of all time that completely sets the tone of the show The song is called Stardust Memories and it’s performed by Takaya Kawasaki YouTube it once you’re done with this video You’ll thank me later but hit the like button on your way out though Reason number two to watch is that the vibes are immaculate If you’re into aesthetics you’ll love this The animation captures the warm glow of a classic bar with polished wood and glistening glasswware Not only that but the show actually has licensed alcohols that appear in most scenes of the bar on the shelf as well as in the hands of Ryu as he’s pouring drinks for his customers Notably Suntory Spirits Limited sponsored the anime Not only did they provide financial backing for the show but they played a significant role in supervising the depiction of alcoholic beverages in the series Their involvement ensured that the portrayal of various spirits were both authentic and respectful to the craft of mixology which will lead me into my next point coming up soon on the realism of this show Every episode feels like you step into a place where time pauses and the world fades away and you’re encountering real people with real problems and their safe haven of the bar Eden Hall Reason number three to watch Bartender is that the characters feel real No special abilities no superpowers no jutsu no quirks just everyday normal people with everyday problems regrets burnout family tensions and the way Ryu crafts the perfect drink for each individual situation It’s just storytelling brilliance in its own quiet and calming way You end up learning more about yourself and about life than you would expect from a show about cocktails Reason number four to watch Bartender is that the show is surprisingly educational You ever watch an episode of Bar Rescue this show is kind of similar Not in the fact that there’s a character like Joe Taffford screaming and yelling at people This show is quite the opposite It’s very calm and relaxing However the science behind every drink is what makes this anime’s realism compared to a real life show such as Bar Rescue Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or someone who doesn’t drink at all the show drops fascinating knowledge about mixology history and even a little bit of philosophy and the interactions of Rio and his customers I mean there are multiple instances where the main character Ryu and rival bartender Ryui go into detail on how ice melting affects the drinks On top of that almost every drink featured in a show is a real life alcoholic beverage with factual ingredients displayed or explained for each drink there is The ingredients for most of the drinks are factual as well Oh drinks such as the Mizawari Grasshopper Sidecar and Old Pal which was actually my favorite episode in the series That was the title of it rather Margarita the Cinderella a bloody Caesar classic martini sidec car as well as Black Velvet and the Singapore Sling were all shown and displayed accurately throughout the show And my fifth and final reason for watching Bartender is that the show is simply timeless Unlike many seasonal shows that chase trends Bartender feels like it could have aired 10 years ago Well actually it did more than 10 years ago in 2006 actually is where the original first aired Even 10 years from now the show will still feel like a classic and like it belongs in that time frame It doesn’t rely on hype it relies on heart So if you’re tired of the noise the endless shownen battles or over-the-top drama pour yourself a drink dim the lights and step in bartender glass of God Rio will be glad to welcome you at Eden Hall [Music]
