2WD スプリンターでジェイコブのラダーを登る?! – この登りは私たちのようなバンには向いていません…

We’re Sandy, Tim, and Pablo—travelling Australia in our self-built Sprinter van. Join us for vanlife, travel, and Big Lap adventures around the country.

We were told this road was off-limits for 2WD vehicles… so naturally, we gave it a go in our 2WD Sprinter van 😅 why not? Vanlife is not for the faint hearted.
Welcome to Jacob’s Ladder in Ben Lomond National Park, Tasmania — one of the most dramatic, winding climbs in the country. And yep… we took our home-on-wheels up there.

In this episode, we take you along for the nail-biting drive, reveal what it’s really like to tackle this crazy ascent in a van that defivitely wasn’t built for it, and share a few laughs (and mild panics) along the way.

  1. We totally loved watching your Tassie videos. It's my favorite place in Australia! I'll be re-watching them all to help cure my Tassie sickness. Where are you guys off to next? I'm in Adelaide if you could catch up that'll be awesome 👌🏻

    🤣😬🚐

  3. I did Jacob’s Ladder a couple of years ago in almost snow in a 4wd. That’s a pretty good effort on your part getting a big 2wd van up there. Cheers

  4. I so wanted to have a crack at Jacobs Ladder in my liitle HiAce van.. I drove as far as the village then turned around as the National Park had signs saying “ No dogs”.. I’ve been told since that if the dog doesn’t get out of the vehicle it’s ok to enter National Patks 🤷‍♀️ Anyways after watching your experience I’m glad I didn’t go all the way.. Bit too scary I think, maybe if I wasn’t alone I’d have the courage to do it..

  5. wow that looks pretty scary on Jacobs Ladder, Not on my list to do that's for sure, lol. 5 months has gone very fast to me watching you guys, thanks for all the adventures and have a good trip crossing the strait back to the mainland, cheers

  6. Thank you for giving us fun travels with you and Pablo around my favourite state. I hope you will be returning soon.😊🐾🐕‍🦺🌻

  7. That was so funny – I had the giggles. It’s funny when you were saying you did not know if you would make it up, I was thinking nige and Sue made it you’ll do it and then you showed their footage.
As Tim was driving up I was leaning back in my seat and as you turned I was leaning in the same direction as you. So basically, I have now driven Ben Lomond haha. Thanks for being down here and doing a great job showing off Tassie. I hope when u r here next we can have a meet up with your followers in Hobart. Enjoy the next adventure!

  8. Sandy, Tim, and pablo

It was the finest day of Tazmania!

Oh..I feel you all the gusty winds. What was the elevation gain from the beginning?

I saw Tim's face get a little nervous as he drove and hear the wheels spinned.

Men can feel her exhaustion? haha The mountain's weather changes quickly and the clouds cover quite often at the high elevation. I enjoy your insta 360 x4? footage. I am glad Pablo was alright, not having car-sick. Well, cin-cin to you all

    New adventures await. Safe trip.

  9. Thanks guys I have loved your Tassie adventures! That is how YouTube recommended you as I am always looking for people travelling Tassie with a dog. I will definitely keep watching your episodes as I have enjoyed watching your adventures.
Ps Sandy I did have a giggle when you said you were hanging onto a pole to stop you blowing away. Also Tim I can’t believe you drove up that road twice 😬

  10. I must visit La Villa, I live about 1.5km from them and have never been 🙄.
Have really enjoyed your travels around my home state, safe ongoing travels to you all.

  11. That must’ve been so scary. Did you shit your pants? When you got back up the top? I’m sorry to say that but I would’ve because I’m terrified of heights and even when I drove around Tasmania going up some of them hills from where my sister lives it was scary.
