  7. I like season 1 very much, but season 2 was a mess in my opinion. Very rush, a lot of cut content and a not very good production.
    Love the characters thought.

    I dont see a S3 ever happening tbh, i think there are more chances of getting a new adaptation more than a new season, the anime changed a lot of things, re arrenged plot points and arcs, so i see the possibility of a reboot on the horizon more than a S3, just like spice and wolf did

  13. To Love-Ru gets a massive number of figures, more than any other series that has long ended. It still has a massive fan base. I have like 20 scale figures from it, actually have another one coming this month, the Lala by Alter.

  14. I watched the first few episodes of Gate but dropped it, didn’t really like all the modern weapons being brought into a land of swords & sorcery. Maybe it would have grown on me but I think I started watching something else & then just forgot about it.

  15. As a Gate fan who has it on DVD & some of the manga, when I could find em, I honestly never had hope for a continuation.
    1. Time. It's been 10yrs now. If there was meat on the anime bone someone would done something with it by now.
    2. I always saw the anime as a source material seller.
    3. Season 1 followed the source material pretty well. Then season 2 skipped at least one major arc & had an anime original ending.
    4. Yes, there is surprisingly a large amount of merchandise, but it's still pretty niche

  16. I didn't know A-1 did Gate nor have I seen Gate either. Now I'm not sure if the SAO mobile games have done it or not, but I wonder if Gate had a crossover collab with GGO.
    As for a season 3, it could happen or maybe even a remake. The new figure could be a sign of it returning, but at the same time, I've seen Neon Genesis getting a good load of figures lately & iirc, the series got a new movie during the pandemic. I've also seen a new Kuroyukihime figure coming this year, but it's a figure celebrating the Accel World Light Novel's 15th anniversary. The anime also hasn't been touched since 2016.
    Although, I could also see them have AGGO being a replacement for Gate since that's another "military" series.
