Bill Cosby delayed curtain up for a run of Avenue Q that I did in Norristown PA a few years ago. Still the most hilarious reason a show I've played has had to start extremely late.
The theatre was like 2 blocks from the courthouse he was being tried at and he messed up traffic pretty bad and practically shut down the Septa Rte 100 train at the terminal down the hill. Most of the pit and like half the cast and crew couldn't get to the theatre for call.
And since it was Avenue Q , you bet your ass there was some riffing about why we started like an hour and a half late from the cast and pit.
