エルフさんは痩せられない: Gonda 含蛇 Innovative Dragon Girl Design
I prepared this edit focusing on the character design of Gonda from Erufu-san wa Yaserarenai (Plus-Sized Elf). I am working on a visual novel that I hope to develop into a game featuring two distinct types of gynomorphic dragons.
At first, Gonda’s red scales and red hair reminded me of Ilulu from 小林さんちのメイドラゴン (Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon). Initially, I assumed Gonda to be inspired by Eastern Dragons, but upon closer examination, I realized her design aligns more closely with Western Dragons. This is evident in her sharp, pointy horns and her characterization, which emphasizes innate power and treasure hoarding—classic traits of Western Dragons. In contrast, Eastern Dragons often symbolize wisdom and harmony with nature.
also noticed that she is sometimes drawn without horns! @1:44
What I love most about Gonda’s design is the visible scales on her face, which make her stand out among other Dragon Girl depictions. These unique features inspire me to incorporate similar elements into my character designs and reference sheets for the game I’m developing.
