  1. the thing we get from flashbacks and jun conversation with the other guy is that he actually likes Tomo, but he always have had self confidence issues. In part, that's why he is not able to date Tomo or even accept his own feelings

  2. I think he always knew tomo was a girl it's just she was so boyish that he never viewed her romantically and only as his best friend. And only now that they're older he's starting to see the more girly side of her and so romantically.

  3. After Jun found out Tomo was a girl I think he was struck by the question "What would it mean if my friend became my girlfriend?"
    His options were
    A. Tomo: Precious irreplaceable best friend
    B. Gundo: Other friend
It was a test run, it turned out badly and he decided to just stay friends with Tomo at all costs.
It was also a colossal dick move on his part and he still has some unresolved guilt towards Misuzu over it which only fuels their mutual antagonism.

  4. Rie Takahashi is having an absolute BLAST playing Tomo-chan. You can hear her enjoyment in every syllable, and it's so dang infectious! And it's HILARIOUS that Rie has Tomo sing so terribly, knowing how great a voice she actually has!

  5. The show is getting interesting, and I'm really wondering if tomo and Jun get together.

Also, it would be funny if lala sang the wheels on the bus, but in tomo's style 🤣.

  6. Jun looking at video of Tomo on his phone is noticing her feminine charm when she was a bit embarrassed with him recording her.

  7. Manga reader here! Later on in the story, we do get to see Jun's POV during middle school so we get to learn both why he avoided Tomo and why he asked out Gundo. Honestly, they're some of my favorite chapters in the manga😁

  8. I just want to recommend you to watch ‘the magical revolution of the reincarnated princess and the genius young lady’, I think you might like this. Hope you enjoyed!!

  9. I am actually with Misuzu about her dates with Jun. As an introvert who doesn't like sports, I'd feel terrible for biking nonstop for 2 hours (one way) on the first date. He should at least tell her how far the place is (so she can get ready before the actual date) and let her take breaks on the way. Traveling together is great, but he should at least pay attention to his partner's well-being.

  10. for the last karaoke scene, Tomo and Carol's voice actors are also professional singers. Sally Amaki (carol's VA) is a born and raised American who went to japan to pursue her voice acting career, so shes a certified bilingual. I did not know Misuzu's VA could sing, but most VAs nowadays are expected to be multitalented anyways (ie: excellent PR and social skills, singing, dancing, on top of voice acting).

  11. Jun and Tomo are probably the least mature people in this entire anime. And I love it. Also, this manga, and that pants scene predates Shikimori as a manga (I believe. It got translated a lot earlier at least).

ALSO once the next season of My Dress up Darling comes out, keep a look out for our girl here. =)

  12. It's clear Jun isn't that oblivious during middleschool after all, and Misuzu also hints at stuff that happen during that period like a mystery about Jun's behaviour

  13. about that riding a bike for dating just to see places… this info is not included in the anime but it was 40km from home…

  14. The way I see it Jun is a combination of:
    1. Aware of Tomo’s gender

    2. Oblivious of how to treat her now

    3. Straight just a single neuron

    4. Unable to actually see her as feminine because of her ability to take down opponents who aren’t even in her weight class.

In short, the man is fumbling the bag hard because he’s too used to treating her like a brother and is too dumb to know any better at this point.

  15. The meaning of her looking different was that she was giving off a feminine vibe, and he noticed that. So far Jun has only seen the masculine side of her, and this was their first encounter that she was with a feminine energy, and he felt it, that's why he says she looked different, because she wasn't the usual masculine Tomo.

  16. I was wondering, why was Tomo only singing children's songs? My guess, she never had any interest in music, and those were literally the only songs she had any familiarity with.
