Me at 1st season taking as an entertainment but then on 2nd season i learnt alot of life meaning full thing its a masterpiece anime🔥
The second season was long and lacked battles
While battles the first season showed were awesome, I understood as soon as I started watching season 2 that it was not going to be the focus at all, like, this is a manga that's often compared to Berserk which isn't only about fantasy monster and warriors or Vagabond which isn't only about Samurai mastering the sword, of course this was not going to be only about Viking wars.Tthe really good shonen-esque action sequences is what deceived people with 0 knowledge about Vinland Saga I guess
I think based on the latest chapters it’s about the inevitability of conflict.
The creator actually detests violence so this is correct

you have a point, but it definitely is ”about” vikings, it is also loosely based on real life events, but yes, the main points of the story are way deeper
Call the final episode of season 1 “end of prologue” was wild. I get why season 2 is considered so many people’s favorite anime of last year. Because it’s way of showing its message is more beautiful then most that have done it, while being covered in blood.
I really spoiled myself when taking a peak inside volume 4 I really should’ve known better 😅
People really ignore the importance of the words “You have no enemies” in episode ONE and act like it’s all about Thorfinn being a cool dual-dagger-wielding assassin.

Also, ketil was the epitome of the "nice guy" . Someone who's only nice to people because they want others to like them. As soon as someone "betrays their kindness" or doesn't do what he expects just because he's nice to them, he gets mad and the nice person facade is gone. He's an example of who you shouldn't be when trying to st4ive for improvement

Yup season 1 was awesome season 2 was dumb asf
But it is also about vikings lol. It’s about how their way of thinking was so violent and dumb, it talks a lot about the religion, discrimination, love, slavery etc. The main themes of course are: if people really can change, and how they can change, what’s the cause of not changing ? Why were vikings so violent ? Is it fine to taint your pride for your life ?. There’s just too much u can’t say that Vinland is just about the struggle of trying to be a better person, it’s way more than that.
Look at how a lamb jumps on Thorfinns chest when he found peace… The lamb of God will give you peace of you come to Him
Vinland saga is litrally a battle between two symbolic ideologies one side you got "Askledd the great" which can be defined in one line "that you to be one step ahead to fuck other before they fuck you cuz the world is full of bastard" on the other there is "thors the troll of jam" the real father of thorfinn "you have be kind to others Voilence is very last action you have ever to take no one your enemies spread love and peace"
