  1. For me it seems like canute was kinda scary of thorfin , he tried to convinced him telling him about his dreams and goals but he wasn't sure if thorfin would understand that , he was like "please understand me ,I don't wanna kill you "

  2. I can't say for sure but I think thorfinn having long hair and canute having short hair as opposed to their last meeting symbolizes the inversion of their personality and beliefs.

  3. Imagine hearing tales of someone going up against Thorkell and being an even match. Thinking he too is big and buff when in reality it was a small moody teenager.

  4. Rebllion against God,the oldest sin of humanity, stupidly following the lies and ways of satan, The Lord offers us real salvation and redemption, but the evil of man like Canute refuses to accept God's love and rebels against the invincible one, nonsense haha, not an incredible man,but a fool leading thousands to hell, possibly easier for thorfinn to get redemption by God in a future if he repents and finds him, because people like Canute….will eventually fall and bow like all kings that rebelled against the king of kings

  5. Canute set his throne by the sea shore and commanded the incoming tide to halt and not to wet his feet and robes. Yet "continuing to rise as usual [the tide] dashed over his feet and legs without respect to his royal person. Then the king leapt backwards, saying: 'Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings, for there is none worthy of the name, but He whom heaven, earth, and sea obey by eternal laws.'" He then hung his gold crown on a crucifix, and never wore it again "to the honour of God the almighty King".-Henry of Huntingdon, The Chronicle, p. 199

  6. it shows that the person who did this have no clue of the wisdom behond it , poster left out the most important part 😢, too bad
