The Star is Jupiter and the Constellation was Aries and the Planets of Mercury Venus Mars and Saturn and the Moon were in the constellation of Aries the Ram associated with Israel and the Jews or pointing to it on either side. Jupiter is considered the King Star. It is a very rare event for this to occur having significance to astrologers or astronomers of the past. The HISTORY CHANNEL which usually is against any Christian Programming allowed Bill Briar of C.W. Post of Long Island University to conduct this Study of this theory about the Birth of JESUS Christ. Assisted with his understanding of How the BIBLE Narrative makes complete sense is Professor of Rutgers University an Astronomer who used a Star movement and time tracking system to move the sky back to that time period. 

THIS PROGRAM HIGHLY USEFUL and CONFIRMS THE BIBLE PROPHESY OF JESUS BIRTH and confirmation from other people in another culture like Persia or Parthenon MAGI who believed and searched for JESUS place of Birth as Prophesied. That Program on HISTORY Channel was "THE 3 KINGS" 

This Program confirms that JESUS was born near April 17th 5 or 6 BC as Dionysius who was called to Create a New Calendar for ROme much later than the Birth of JESUS used Romes history to misdate when JESUS was born and when the calendar should begin by at least 5 years due to a mistake of Augustus's date of Birth using 31BC instead of 27BC because Augustus used his given name Octavian for the first 4 years of his reign Plus Dionysius forgot the year zero.
The Persian or Parthenon MAGI seeing the Star Jupiter telling of a Great King to be born followed and probably found JESUS in Bethlehem by December 19th 6 BC making their Gifts of Myrhh Frankinscence and Gold as their Gifts to JESUS the King. Rome and Dionysius did not know that date by the time he was making the calendar so they used the MID WINTER Celebration of their Sun god Sola Victus as the date in December.

I like the theory based on astronomy that Jesus was born during the Feast of Trumpets. I would point out, that makes Jesus circumcision around the Day of Atonement and then maybe the Wisemen arrived at baby Jesus during the Feast of Tabernacles… It's like how the crucifiction was during Passover and the Holy Ghost descending on the apostles during Feast of Weeks.

There are two Northern stars in the NT, just as there are two Christs.

Jeremiah Chapter 10 is about the decking of a Christmas tree with silver and gold. It was written down in 605 BC. The original Magi were taught by Daniel. The wise men kept the knowledge about the signs in the stars for 500 years until the birth of Christ.

"We three kings of Orient ARE;
bearing gifts we traverse afar…" just sayin'.

I agree with another commenter this may have be the group of angels guiding the magi, not a star at all. Then they went on to sing to the shepherds.

This man uses the word "probably" about 10 times in the first 4 minutes.

The “Christmas” star is Venus. If you don’t know much about it it’s a great topic to research.
