Equestria Girls Makes Zero Sense, Here's Why



My Little Pony’s spin-off, Equestria Girls, definitely has a fun concept, reimagining ponies as humans. However, this is not without strange plot holes and inconsistencies between the two worlds. In this video, we’ll be going over a few of these weird unexplained questions, and I’ll be trying to answer them to the best of my abilities.

Strap in for a lot of overthinking and pointless analysises.

  4. I'm not sure if the main intention of Hasbro creating MLP:EG was to be consistent or something like that? I think they where more used to sell toys and because of monster high they needed to make there own "humanized puppets".
    And with MLP being that famous, that time it was only logical to transform the ponies into humans. More or less. And nobody cares about consistency that time!

  6. when it comes to the age thing, how do Celestia and Luna factor into the human mane six being only a few years younger than their pony counterparts. if it made more sense wouldn't the human Celestia and Luna be long dead because the princesses Celestia and Luna were born a long time ago. or maybe the human Celestia and Luna aren't actually them but descendants with the same names and similar personalities/looks?

  9. also i do wonder how old sunset is supposed to be, i think there was a comic that showed a younger twilight and a sunset shimmer who was clearly much older but it seemed that in the movies she was supposed to be the same age as all of them

  19. We have Discord opening another dimention in the muppet universe in "Make new friends but keep Discord" I don't think it's THAT weird, although I get it, confusing XD but I think it's not dirrectly connected where everything "translates" perfectly

  23. I don't really care what you say, because I thought and still do that Equestria Girls managed to be better than most of the entirety of G4 and while i'm a fan of both, I'm more of a fan of Equestira Girls and this video is not changing my mind on that.

  24. I thought this was weird but, the “3 Musketeers”, Scooter loop, Sweetiebelle, and Apple bloom, We’re literally At canterlot! Like in the pony world they were most likely 7 but in the human world, they were seen in the school as teenagers. So basically the Mane six should be Seniors or a Junior and then the 3 musketeers should be freshman’s, or it could be that it’s a middle school combined with a high school. Either way it’s weird that they go to school with their big sisters, and also the fact they never even talked neither, like that would have shown some development of them. Come on hasbro. 🤦🏾‍♀️

  26. i have this one oddly specific issue with equestria girls, which i understandf happens because we need the same cast, but like how over the thousands of years of history, have both ponies and human has the same family tree? like my issue begins in the context of harths warming, becuase we see that up to that point the three pony races had been segregated, but does that mean a similar segregation happened in the human world, because if not that just means all of the same people existed and just none of them, not a single one of them had kids, which just throws me off, becuase even if they were segregated how would the exact same groups of people be sorted into those catagories that align with unicorn, pegasis and earthpony. on top of that theres many other locations are are only accessable by one type of pony: clouds. Any pony that, for whatever reason, only lived in the clouds would rarely, if ever, have the chance to meet any sort of unicorn or earthpony, but thats less of an issue in th ehuman world. Like I get that they had to have all the recognizable characters because its an mlp property, but just statistically, and logically speaking it doesnt make sense.

  27. This reminds me that when I was younger I ended up finding this "manga" made by a fan (Mauroz) called Friendship is Magic, the proposal is almost the same as Equestria Girls but in my opinion much better, unfortunately I don't see anyone talking from that

They are adult in the pony world in fact in the episode where they remember how they got their cutiemarks is implied that Rarity and Cheerilee have the same age, and if they all got their cutiemarks at the same exact time that would mean that they're all as old as cheerilee or around that age.

  34. My head cannon is that the mirror alters reality around it to make it similar to the pony world, forcing it into a "reflection" of Equestria. For me this allows most problems to be resolved without doing anything too noticeable on the human side. Characters like Principal Celestia wouldn't be immortal, but would instead be members of a long line of people named Celestia who keep rising to some position of power near the mirror. Spike is a dog for now because that best matches the relationship he has with Twilight, he's loyal and they care for each other but he's mostly subservient especially in the earlier seasons. Spike the second in the human world will almost certainly be human to match the greater independence and influence (and size) he gains later in the series. This also helps explain why things might match poorly in some cases. The mirror doesn't control time, it just influences the destiny of some people, so ages won't always match exactly. Also it doesn't respond to quick changes instantly, it's just trying to make the human side match the pony side as best it can. I'm know that this idea has some holes, like Crystal Prep probably shouldn't exist yet, but I think it's at least better than most other theories.

  36. For me, I personally think that:

    Any animals that can talk: Humans
    Any pets that can’t talk: Pets

    Any assistance: Dogs/Cats

    I also think that The mirror existed wayyy after celestial and Luna was born so that’s why they look like they’re in their 20s-30s

  37. if were gunna overthink this, the best explanation for the differences between ages of characters is that time passses at different speeds in both worlds but when the portal links the universes toether, to prevent the tidal forces created by the dialation effect from harming the ponies passing through the portal, themagic of the portal syncs the two universes together, meaning whilst the portal is open time moves at the same speed and when its closed they move at differnt speeds.

    now due to the uncanny similarity between charcters not just in appearence but in personality something must connect the two versions of each character maybe something similar to quantum entanglement, and when an entity steps through the portal the portal detects this link and transforms the individual into it's linked counterpart in the other world. This means there does not need to be a corrolation between what species turn into what other species what travelling through the portal, as this link would likely have nothing to do with biology.

  41. Hasbro got Lauren Faust to make a show SO they could sell toys.
    It was show and story first to be marketed.
    EG was made as a toy brand and they just had to come with some excuse to promote it with the current show.
    That's why it sucks.
