The Nier anime was dead on arrival because of this production committee forcing the studio to release episodes too soon and with it brought a delay that killed the hype…Sad to see as the next cour has me excited as these final episodes were great but many won't even watch them after that break killed many people's excitement!

The only way the next 12 episodes can bring back any hype is either release all the episodes at once netflix style or hope there are no more delays weekly
If anyone can binge watch all 12 episodes, it would be different than how most of us had to wait for the rest of the episodes

Production committees really love screwing things up
I really enjoyed episodes 9-12 and it felt like I binged watched it rather than "finally the rest of the episodes are here" that's how I was invested in these episodes with some type of hype going into it
Aniplex really needs to chill the eff out and let A-1 Pictures cook on these blockbuster series instead of trying to rush them. I mean, by now we’ve all heard the stories about how Aniplex wanted 86 to air a year earlier than it did, and by the second half of cour 2 they started losing to the time crunch. Same production tier for Nier, BTW. When A-1 Pictures is putting everything that they have and more into these kinds of series, they need to be given the time to do it right. And at least to their credit, they are going extra hard in these postponed episodes.
The anime is gold its shame that it does not get the attention it deserves. The delay did not help with production. The story, animation characters. The music alone deserves a reward. Better late then never. The team really put their S tier into this.
I'd be lying if I said I was particularly interested in the anime after playing the game, but damn, I hope they at least get to finish it up eventually.
The ideas what it means to be human and alive really one most interesting themes in this series.
Imma be honest,all these delays killed my hype,I basically just watched it for closure. Definitely were pretty good episodes but the feeling just wasn’t there anymore,hope the next cour doesn’t suffer from the same problem.
I feel kinda annoyed this anime got delayed so they can produce it proper;y rather than rushing it, with another anime misfit of a demon king who is also under the same company aniplex, im just not happy what they did to these two they are big in their own right
Started a new playthrough because of the anime, playing as 2b still is much more fun then 9s, don't like the hacking thing 😂
Aniplex really needs to learn from these past mistakes and not rush these anime out before they’re ready. Hopefully the next part of Nier won’t suffer production problems.
I get very wary when a anime I like gets produced by Aniplex or Netflix, anywho here's my impression of anime 2023 so far.
Winter 2023: Wow there are so many cool things to watch surely nothing will get delayed right……right!
Spring 2023: Look at all these great shows surely people won't skip out on these gems…….
Summer 2023: Pales in comparison to the Summer 2022 lineup but man if these shows aren't hitting it out of the park with each recurring episode

I'm enjoying the anime for this famous game series.
I absolutely adored the nier anime and the game looks absolutely amazing
God, the anime industry is so weird. You never hear about new western cartoons and shows releasing 3 episodes and then delaying it because the animators didn't finish yet
Regardless… This is not the end. It's just the beginning.
As it is, this is also as close as possible we can get to Nier Replicant anime
Why do people need to rely on hype? If you are a true fan of the material you'll stick to the end no matter what.
First off, Great series.
Secondly, Disappointed that when it came out to resume where it left off,
I had to do a double take, and watch a previous episode, in order to get my
mindset on the events that happened after the conversation between,
Aam and Eve. Also, it really didn't help the fact that there was no announcement,
not even an ad, which tells me that for what ever reason, they either hate it, or,
they really hate it.
Once I've finished watching the series, I said to myself, "What if they could have
done something to get it aired sooner ,rather than later??", also, "What's the real
truth behind all those production delays??", For some odd reason, its really screaming
conflict of interests, within the community, that would have ruined the series forever.
I'm happy that the premier season series has finally closed, but at what price did they
pay in order to get the rest of the set episodes to air?"
Now the enthusiastic side of me is saying that. "I hope that it doesn't happen again".
However, the realist in my is saying that, "If it happens again, then its really pointless
to continues, moving forward." I'll just watch it, for the sake of watching a beautiful
series get butchered, due to "Production Issues", or in my opinion "Conflicts of Interest
between clashing ideals".
What a relief, but at the same time, what a shame.

I feel bad for yoko taro having his IPs not getting the best treatment they deserved. Nier Replicant & Automata were two of the best games I have ever played that had a ever-lasting lingering thought on me years after playing them. It's just sad that the anime industry goes for quantity over quality since the model is simply translating manga/LN/games into a motion picture. To me, most of the anime nowadays are just mediocre thanks to this
I respect the "restart" they took and dump of the final eps (super great, was surprised tbh and thought it was a joke – Ojisan trauma.) but it doesn't have the same hype NEARLY at all as it was when it was dropping every week. I do hope this season 2 is planned better and if they are gonna do a 2 cour, to at least plan it out better. Aniplex and A-1 have had production issues and I don't blame them but so many other factors. That being said, there are shows I know I have put a pin in due to delays and probably never finished. The unfortunate nature of the beast.
I will be waiting with bated breath. Albeit extreeeemely skeptical lol. 'Tis the nature of the anime production culture nowadays.
Oh and a PS. The after-credits alternate endings scenes were freaking great. The drunk 9S was hilarious.

it was such a good first cour, it's a shame everything went to shit
Dead on arrival is spot on. Aniplex killed the hype for this show and they can only blame themselves.
They did the same with 86, probably not as bad since it was near the end and a decent amount of people came back but if you stop the anime like Nier half way through its run, you're at a point of no return.
And it's such a shame. This series should and would've been one of the most talked about through the season if only they didn't rush it and released it before the team could refine it to the best of their abilities.
When I watched ep 9, I definitely felt lost like I forgotten where we left off, luckily I was pretty determined to see what happens but someone else might turn it off immediately because people are lazy like that.
You can see how much the team put in the effort to finish off this series in the best light. The action and animation were top notch and even the CGI was better for the mechs that 9S was flying in ect.
If only this anime aired this season, it would've been anime of the season hands down.
Guess this means that Nier is going to go on Pateron for cour 2.
I'm happy we got cour 2 since I was half expecting A1 to either abandon it and it go to another studio (which can still happen) or it just gets canceled straight up which I totally wouldn't blame them for.
It's a big, big shame to let such a profitable and well marketed series to be treated like it did here from a production committee standpoint.
These episodes were 10/10 with narrative, emotion, action and animation but the only issue is, I kinda didn't really feel the emotion I should have for Adam or Eve. It's probably due to the break tbh but everything else was amazing tbh.
Lily and the squad doing work and even the commander was fighting for her soldiers even though the higher ups didn't let her do anything until she took it into her own hands.
Great cliffhanger too as it will get us hooked for cour 2 for those who are still watching. Hope that some of the discussion comes back with cour 2 but I'm sorta doubting it.
Anyway, it's been great and would love to see you review this for another cour but I can totally understand if you put this on Pateron only since the discussion has died 😞
I gave up on watching the anime because of all of the production issues.
honestly at this point it seems like the anime is solely for those who know the game, there arent probably and blind watchers going into it anymore
I liked how it went about the same beats as the game but with different circumstances.
I liked the game, but I just got bored by the anime by the time of the first break & just never bothered after..

Ya know, I haven't actually sat down and played a video in what feels like an eternity now, probably as long as I'm "seriously" watching anime, but this might've actually convinced me to try it out for myself again because I liked this show way more than I thought I would. Only problem with that is I don't have a PS4 and I'm not much of a PC gamer in the first place (very ironic with this name and the few videos I have on the channel, I know…. but that's a story for another time….)
I don't particularly care for delays happening and there not being any hype behind sth, tbh, as long as I get a quality product like this, I'll go out of it satisfied. And hey, Cour 2 is confirmed anyway so there's that too. Now I would be lying if I said I remembered everything the previous episodes did, but I was still properly invested into this final stretch and I especially loved episode 9 A LOT.
I had a similar experience with 86, also an A-1 and Aniplex production, where as you know the last few episodes of the second cour got delayed. Fortunately in that case, I had the advantage of having read the LN in the time between cour 1 and 2…. ^^
Seems like at least this video has some support. It was good from what I have seen and just need to catch up for it. Hopefully they try to animate it without delays next time
So, i loved the rest of the series. The series being on the hiatus did suck, but the remaining episodes kind of saved it for me 🙂
Finally finised the last batch of eps. Kinda sad that both sides are fighting for masters that no longer exist though.
I enjoyed these last 4 episodes. The direction they took was different from the game, with different circumstances, which kept me intrigued. I hope they get the 2nd part right without the crazy delays, even if we have to wait longer so that the episodes are released more fluid.
I actually really like the show overall but I wish they would've just stuck to the already written script and didn't reinvent scenarios and try to produce an alternate universe that follows the general path of the game. if they were going to do that they should've just written a different story in the future or past. they do have me excited for the second cour though that ending trailer is IMO the biggest hype train of a turning point in the game and its nothing but building suspense from there while somehow still having major cathartic moments which just resolves into MORE tension.
The voice that was talking with the 2 girls sounded like the voice that the commander girl talks about? Can anyone let me know if he is probably a bad guy or bad machine ?
A bit late for the party, since I totally missed the release of the final bits… and I am disappointed.
Just the way they used their excellent pieces of soundtrack is pissing me off.
Hey, you know this peaceful and sombre track "Song of the Ancients"? How about we use it as BATTLE MUSIC! Yeah!
Or how about playing 10 second of a song, then go to mid-episode stinger and then cut to silence and start a different song afterwards?
Who made the sound-mixing for this? That person should never be allowed to touch a sound-mixing board ever again.
Even the end-of-episode puppet shows stopped being funny.
And the pacing is all over the place. Adam just turned into a giant monster that wants to destroy everything… so let's have what feels like ten minutes of speeches, without even having the sounds of destruction in the background, because if it isn't on screen it might as well not exist…
And then they somehow had the giant cannon just in the right street to push the monster back onto their massive missile to shoot it into orbit… what? They didn't even need to lure Adam into this trap, but he just happened to walk right into the right spot for this…. it feels like some very important scenes were cut here.
The anime started good, but became a disjointed mess and doesn't deserve the excellent game soundtrack it fails to use properly.
I'm also really confused why they credited Jouji Nakata as "Red Girl" BEFORE the "big" end-credits twist, completely spoiling said twist to anyone bothering to read the credited voice actors. They could have just credited him as coucil of Humanity spokesperson or somesuch, but nope… either they couldn't be bothered to put in the effort of writing in four extra words, or the editing re-shuffled the scenes without thinking of the consequences… It just feels so lazy and/or uncoordinated, like much of those last few episodes. :/
With Yoko Taro being involved and knowing how he thinks of re-treading old pathes, I was looking forward to which new direction the story would take, away from what the games shows… but this couldn't even get close to how much the game managed to make me emotionally invested, even with the goodwill the games created for the anime series.
Im so happy that they didnt rush the story! It was so good! Cant wait for season 2.

I remember i was so excited to watch episode by episode then the massive hiatus happened and killed the hype 😢 the second half is genuinely amazing tho like WOAH
