  1. Cole, good job of explaining how the FSA programs work. My opinion is that the availability of crop insurance should only be available to the Farm sizes at the bottom 50% in each state. The federal crop insurance program is allowing some farms to get much too big. When you've got one operation that is farming 10 or 20 or 30,000 acres think of how many small farmers that pushes off the land. In our area if you've got 2000 good acres you can make a real nice living. That one farming operation that farms 10k acres pushed 5 young or small farmers out of the business. And it's the government's federal crop insurance program that allows us to happen. If they couldn't buy crop insurance for 10,000 acres 95% of the time they wouldn't be farming 10,000 acres.

  2. 🚨CORRECTION🚨

THE GOVERNMENT I GIVING YOUR TAX DOLLARS THAT WERE STOLEN FROM U
    🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

  3. The best insurance is insurance you never use. Insurance is for those who can't afford the loss. The big guys can afford it so they shouldn't begrudge those that can't. The big guys got big by having insurance when they needed to have it.

  4. I have no problem with Gov giving the money they stole from me and giving to hard working Farmers ! Better the farmers than those who think we owe them something!! 😮

  5. What if Governments around the world simultaneously stopped subsidizing farming? I don’t know the answer to my question as I was 14 when my family sold the dairy farm in SE Minnesota in 1981. My question could be the subject for another video.

  6. Welfare for farmers and for the ethanol industry. Subsidies are counter to capitalism and ruin the incentive to produce at a higher rate. Much like the CRP that pays farmers not to grow crops on certain lands. If ethanol wasn't used in gas farmers would be growing more crops used in food production.

  7. Car companies get help to build car's that why there are acres of car all over the place old one new one just to keep ppl inployed and not burn the town down because they have no food ??

  8. Cole, nothing wrong with being quiet around the baby at first but eventually you want to phase out being quiet around your baby while they sleep because it will train them to wake up at the slightest noise if you do, if you don't quiet down and make loud noises normal they will sleep through it all.

  9. No subsidy can be completely fair and someone is always going to take advantage. You are lucky your government realizes farmers sometimes need a helping hand. Many countries don't have that luxury.

  10. farming is the most heavily subsidized industry in the usa by a large margin and prevailing ag policy is killing off small farms – this is, and has been, status quo for years
In 2021, the federal government provided farms with $28.5 billion in subsidies, or direct farm program payments. The Department of Agriculture is the primary federal agency that provides direct payments to farmers.

  11. Nobody gets free money. Some of that money used to be mine, and we're barely making it. You're welcome. Nice place you got, nicer than mine by a very long shot.

  12. Great in theory, but the bulk of these subsidies do not go to family-farms like yours but end up in the cash kitty of giant multi-nationls like ADM, Cargill and Wilmar. I am for supporting guys like your fam, but it is for most part a tax rip off

  13. TLDR : Food Security = National Security, period.
7:09 "Socially Disadvantaged Rancher" – Socially not economically?. Who on earth could they be referring to here, leaves qualification for assistance wide open to interpretation.

  14. Excellent overview. I'm not a farmer, but I have friends who are. I follow you regularly. It allows me to keep up on conversations about farming. Cheers from Canada.

  15. I wouldn't trust the federal government for anything nothing's free especially this present crooked Administration they require your soul for anything they gave you
