Thorfinn at the end of the episode reminds me of his father Thors, it’s like he’s becoming his father.
He’s becoming A “True Warrior” like his father was and wanted him to be …Remember Season 1 Thorkell was asking thorfinn about “True Warrior” Phrase Because Thorkell Didn’t understand What Thor’s Really Meant Whe He Told Him He Wanted To Become A “True Warrior” B4 he left jomsvikings
Again the voice acting in this episode is powerful! Such a good performance from the voice of Einar, down to even the tear filled breathing/ panting, that paired with the music made it very emotional. Vinland saga is truest a beautiful story

Canute actually first hand killed someone before tho . He had to kill askeladd as part of their plan . Also him started killing bunch of ppl is not out of ordinary for him . In season 1 , he said he was willing to get his hands dirty to create paradise on earth

Just want to correct a couple things I noticed people say. Although the story mentions the bible and God, Thorfinn never self claims as a Christian or is trying to follow the teachings from the Bible. Thorfinn is a norse man and at that time a lot of the vikings believed in Norse mythology. Thorfinn just wants to be a better person and he is living his life forward to right all the wrongs he committed. Also he want to live as his father did and what Askeladd wanted for him
I'm not sure Thorfinn wants 100 more undead tugging at his foot in his sleep.

Seeing thorfinn and the other guy simping over Arnheid is difficult for me, the animation it so good though
When Einar broke down in tears after Thorfinn quelled his anger really got me a little bit. Those sorts of moments are so rare not only in shows but in life as well, like the place that's after revenge when you just let it go is not only misery but also acceptance of the thing you've lost.
The Canute lines are from episode s1 episode 18. The parallels are akin to Canute’s Out of The Cradle moment in episode 16.
Canute went to see Thorkell to stop the fighting, Thorfinn is doing the same thing.
Vinland Saga is an amazing anime, this episode was so sad, seeing Arnheid say goodbye to Thorfinn and Einar was heartbreaking.

If they do next episode justice it may be yhe greatest animated episode in anime imo because the climax of this arc has always been one of my favourite teads in manga absolute masterclass of storytelling i can't wait to see how MAPPA adapt it because they have already gone above and beyond for this adaptation absolute peak fiction‼️
I'm gonna be real Arnheids VA deserves an award for her performance the amount of times when i hear her speak and it evokes an emotion in me is crazy especially of sadness and sorrow ofc I've balled my eyes out at her backtory but just hearing the pain in her voice you can understand the emotions she feels behind it although soft you can feel the hatred she has for war and slavery and she definitely didn't deserve anything that life threw at her completely innocent but just tarnished by the world she lived in that is just true tragedy and the power of just having people who were there for her like Einar and Thorfinn… wow I just couldn't hold my tears back yet again brilliant episode brilliant adaptation masterful story writing PEAK FICTION‼️ <3
The episodes are too short and there is less action in the entire season 2!

Just so you know, that quote about God when Throfinn looked at the sky wasn't Thorfinn talking. That was Canute's voice. He said those words standing next to Thorfinn in season 1 episode 20. That's why he's going to see Canute. Because that quote would come from someone the exact opposite of the person Canute is now. I've watched quite a few reactions and everyone thinks it's Thorfinn saying that

Vinland Saga is such a masterpiece, and I love that you guys love it. I feel a bit sad though that the second season got a worse rating and trash talked by kids who are here only for fights and to watch Thorfin killing everyone, and cannot admire the storytelling, the decision making behind the characters and all the other things that make this show so great. Kids just can't understand the beauty of this show.
