Man, the way the Skyrim music hits Never gets old. You have cracked to code of making the coziest start to a video. Just slap some Skyrim music to stuff and it's all good. On another note, farmland seems like a very dangerous place to be in with multiple plots about to collide at this place. One complaint I had was the models were very inconsistent throughout. Still liked the episode though. As always, thanks for the hard work giving us the reaction!

I think the initial scene was intentionally a mislead. Because, as far as I can remember, Gardar was blonde in the manga. They've made his hair red on the anime. Maybe to show some resemblance with Einar, maybe not.
Since I've read the manga, I already knew who he was from the start, but I would love to have the same reaction as you did, to think he was Einar, and then realize that the anime made us think it was him only to show why Arnheid took a like on Einar.
Some other reactors I've watched also mixed Gardar and Einar too due to the resemblance. (I don't remember getting confused about that in the manga, probably because his introduction was presented differently)
"I'll punch youuu if you ruin my wheat", couldnt have been said better. Einar needs to pick a thing or two from gardar and have a moment.

I wonder if it was a conscious decision of the anime to make Gardar have auburn hair just like Einar, which may cause some confusion at first.
In the manga it would be way harder to confuse the 2 because Gardar seems to have a hair color more close to Thorfinn and Arnheid, which would make you assume he's blonde.

That Bible is written in Latin as all Bibles in Western Europe were in Latin until the Protestant reformation (with the exception of Greek copies from the Byzantine Empire). This detail of all is pretty historically accurate (as shown in an earlier scene with the book's page hanging on Snake's face when he fell off the chair). But it's very much an 11th century Bible in caroline minuscule; the passage is Matthew 5:44.
As to how Snake knows Latin and can read it….well, who knows. Norsemen were active all over Europe, and they were also hired as elite bodyguards for the Byzantine elite so if he has any experience there, he would also know Greek on top of that. Frankish too potentially.
Snake 100% not a simple "Viking". Judging by his ability to read the Bible and, most importantly the eastern sword "Scimitar", he visited the Mediterranean Sea. There is a high probability that he served in the Varangian Guard in Byzantium. The Varangian guards are hired Scandinavian warriors "Vikings".
Thorfinn does know english, he show this in season 1, with the woman who take care of him

Haven't watched much yet but my friend told me their favorite character Gardner is finally here, Farmland saga is great, can't wait for harvesting season.
The volume cover for this part of the manga was the runaway slave covered in chains holding Arnheid, and like you guys I was for sure it was Einar. Its the cover for Omnibus 6 if anyone's curious (the cover isn't spoilery)

Someone in Arnheids position has to be reserved, quiet, and obedient. When she is with Ketil she has to tell him what he wants to hear and when shes with the mistress she has to behave. We see her opening up a bit now that shes at Sverkels where people are a lot nicer. I'm excited for the next one.
