Personally I thought it was obvious it was a prequel, Meryl is a newbie, Vash hadn't used his angel arm, His bounty was only 6M and July still existed also milly wasn't there
Nai lost this time just because he didn't wanna kill Vash he's doing all of this to protect vash, he loves him a lot
As someone that never watched the anime nor read the manga, I liked the ending, it felt bittersweet but also show this is merely the prelude of something bigger.
From what I see, Knives always cared for Vash, but ironically he doesn't know how to be a brother, because that would make him "human." The man doesn't know how to deal with negative emotions nor wants to deal with them, only bothering to see the worst of humankind and their flaws.
Trigun Stampede is what introduced me to Trigun. I don’t regret clicking on episode one for a second. This series found me at the right time ❤ I’m so hyped for season 2
Is not exactly a prequel but more a re- interpretation of the events of both manga and anime. In both Vash's Angel arm causes a massive cataclysm that force him going under, from there the OG anime moves to the final confrontation with the rest of the Gung Hos and Legato and Knives, cause there was no more source material. In the manga this is where Maximun, the second manga, starts, and for what they have shown ( Legato, the eye of michael, the stinger at the end) they will probably adapt the rest of Maximun in there on way.
I'm behind due to watching the English voice release.. as soon as I saw your thumbnail just felt like spoiling myself. I'm so happy Millie returned. No joke I've been told I look like her, for years my husband wanted to cosplay as Wolf wood… so we might as well dress up as the duo at a convention soon. I'm smiling so much, who knew spoilers could make me so happy. Thanks.
The original anime goes over the time he lost his memory after the incident at July city. He's taken in by a family and given the name Erik's. That honestly was the single biggest give away that it was a prequel.
I started the episode feeling a little bit of dread because of how episode 11 ended but I personally am very happy with the ending.
I started watching the og Trigun after I started Stampede so my memory is very fresh and as soon as I heard "Thompson" I immediately became so happy to hear that she's here. The whole theme of Knives being colored white and Vash being colored black like yin and yang and having one wing each but the wings being different from the other is very interesting, after all two wings that can't function together can't survive together. Nicholas going from way over there to up on the tower saving Meryl was very weird yet funny, Vash smiling seeing that he rescued her and is getting her to safety made me tear up~
Also in a way it is Meryls fault because when she and Roberto got kidnapped by Zazie the doctor showed up and not only was it Meryl that decided to follow but she also "insulted" the plant girl. Had she not done any of that they'd probably still be talking with Zazie and maybe have been able to leave with Roberto still alive. Throughout these 11 episodes he's constantly saved her time and time again pulling her to safety and because of that as well as the alcohol he got hit and ended up dying.
I wonder if Nicholas is still gonna die in this version of Trigun…
It's not a joke, it's a legit line from the manga, the run away and settle back again line I mean
It is a prequel story but, set in an alternative trigun and not a direct prequel to og Trigun or manga trigun.
When the season 2 drops, Stampede will still do things in its own take and may differ from how the OG anime adapted the same material.
It's like if there is a "crisis core" for FFVII remake. STAMPEDE would be that.
Also, the line from the beast probably do include Meryl but, it is more directed to the"News Media" as a whole. Like the media spun this story, and Meryl still was a part of that faction and the fact that Meryl did not write a story herofying Vash. Means that she was either forced to go with the flow and do what her bosses wants the story to be spun, or jer thinking is a very Vash thing to pin the blame on Vash (I mean Vash still has guilt on this since, irl even if a dude was made into a bomb unwillingly and obliterate an entire city. People will still definitely put the dude into some kind of penalty to be quell people's frustration and stuff and molk every penny on him to add to the pool og money for the city restoration.
I loved this season!!! Around episode 3 or 4 I was concerned, after a banger episode 1, but Im glad I stuck with it. Since the episode with Livio I’ve been hooked. IMO this is surpassing the OG show I’m every way. I REALLY hope season 2 is at least this good. Especially if the characters, having developed from this season, are a little closer to what we remember. I think Meryl will be for sure. But I hope we get a more light hearted Vash. Anyway, if the storytelling and production of season 2 are on par with this, I think it will be a modern masterpiece. Like I want to start rocking Trigun merch again for the first time since 2005. I’m soooo happy with how this turned out!

Considering how "apocalyptic" the events were being set up by episode 10 – 11, I thought this series was going to be a limited 12 episode one time thing where they just wanted to try something different for a reboot. But seeing how the final episode ended, I am glad they're going to continue! There's SO much set up that gives me hope that the next season or part could satisfy more fans of the OG series and manga.
The flashback with Knives or rather Nai talking about how the frontier makes him think about "Cowboys" and guns going "bang bang" to me in retrospect kind of teases the notion that next season or next part may focus more on the lighter/comedic side, and the Western inspired influences the series is known for.
We got her! We got Milly! Glad this leaves room for season 2, and do look forward to the direction the plot will lead to. We got some call backs from the OG, but kind of wish Knives didn't have to go out like that. It's going to be interesting for the future, but of course we're going to have to wait.
Boi….. Knives…is…. pissed whe. He comes back. Im pretty sure Legato's scene is about to be crazy. I'm pretty sure Priest isn't dead either.
Call me crazy, but Nai made A LOT of good points… Just saying. Lol!
Orange & Nightow literally served up an OG Trigun anime mixed it up with Manga Trigun, and created a near perfect fusion of the two.

I would not say it's a prequel because a prequel goes back in the timeline of a preexisting story to explain how things came to be. This was just the beginning of this story. And it basically tells the same story we saw in the Trigun manga, before it changed publishers and became Trigun Maximum.
From where they got Vash starting at from the end of the episode. This will still not be following the anime 100%, because where they have Vash at is like far into the original anime. So Meryl still gonna remember to Vash because that whole joke her not accepting him as the humanoid typhoon was kinda dumb and what made her annoying at times. Because remember you were introduce with character that were in the original after the July incident.
I’ve never watched any of the old trigun, but I really liked this. Mostly because I liked the animation of the character designs better.
Might want to read the manga… The old anime while good, isn't necessarily the original story. This is closer to the original story.

Pleased with conclusion. Vash can't find anwsers, neither for him or Nai(was the doubt of many in the last episode) but wont stand still because of that. But not only the idealist conflict was satisfactory, i loved the fight sequence of the twins, angles and scenario changes were inspiring, sound design is good as usual, coreography was top notch along with fluid animation. High hopes for the future, waiting for a better develpment of Nicholas, he's lacking in writing(does that phrase make sense in english?).

Read the manga. I cannot even put into words how good it is. It makes the original anime look like trash. They had to make up gung ho gun members, gave Knives an Angel arm and lots of other changes due to the manga not being done when they produced the anime. Wolfwood's final fight/send off is also wayyyyyyy better.

this was my first time watching anything trigun related. Did not have any clue of what the franchise was about. Maybe its meant to be more clear for old viewers, but I literally have NO idea what happened in this episodes LOL. Was so confused by the ending.

I honestly cannot wait for Season 2. The arrival of the other Colony Ships is going to be interesting since for the people of the planet it has been hundreds of years since they crashed and most of their past have been forgotten because of it. However, these Colony Ships are still intact and maintain their past history and now they found the location of the crashed ships involved with Project SEED they all thought were lost hundred of years ago.
The original anime was nice and took its own path in the story but that is what it is, a anime that took its own path with the story because the Manga at that time was not finished. With the Manga finished this anime can actually follow more with the Manga's story while also still taking in elements of the original anime so we have a new Trigun anime series that combines both the original anime and manga.
We got everything this show has been missing in this episode
Vash’s hair, the angel arm, a $$60,000,000,000 bounty, the insurance company, and of course Ms. Milly Thompson!
The only thing still missing for me is Vash’s long colt, the .22 just isn’t the same. Also his badass prosthetic-uzi-arm, and since it looks like his other arm melted there could be a chance thats what he gets next. Other than that I’m more than satisfied with Stampede now

So for the future of this series i think two more to 3 more seasons is what we going to get cause there is still a lot of members of the knives gang we haven't seen yet
Knives want to save all of his kind (plants) because human need plants to survive and plants have to die for it so after100 years passed how many plants have die and still keep dying the man has his a point
Damn the people that stayed behind on earth caught that signal when that blast went to space. They're gonna go after everyone from project seed since they thought they were dead and a failure after the crash that happened a century ago.
If I'm not mistaken, in the original anime Meryl did know Vash before the Ericks thing.
