Miri just lost both parents by the same organization. It's sad that she lost one parent for a legitimate reason but the second parent's death was absolutely due to selfishness

I'm glad Rei's f*cking lighter died at just the right time. He stopped smoking for Miri, seeing him start again would have been too much, the ducky already broke my heart.
Also Kyu's "I underestimated how much she meant to you." Like dude, you have known them for YEARS and how much they changed in just ONE. But he also clearly expected Rei's dad to be more reasonable. Our master informant misinterpreted three people at once and caused a huge mess.
And Rei? Damn, this man is headed towards depression if Miri ever learns that he not only killed her father (which she might be able to forgive since she didn't know him anyway), but indirectly also caused the death of her mom, which will be a much harder pill to swallow. And sure ultimately both were caused on the organization's orders, but Rei already blames himself.
But of course I'm glad he is leaving. It just hit me that he was fine with his shitty life… because he had never even experienced positive emotions before. He didn't even KNOW he could be happy, and yet he was willing to throw it away if it meant keeping Miri safe. So I'm actually glad his father messed up, because he certainly lost his precious heir now.
what's so sad is that misaki potentially couldve been saved but because they are hitman they can't take her to a hospital (although she was bleeding out for a long time), we only see them dealing with their injuries diy style.😭 I was just starting to root for her as well🥲🥲

An underrated tragic detail is how Misaki hardly makes any noise after being shot because she didn't want to wake Miri and traumatize her.

This was a rollercoaster man. The beginning felt terrible seeing how much life losing Miri took out of Kazuki and Rei. Its a very real thing too (just in different circumstances). Marriages sometimes end because of the toll losing a child can take on a relationship. Miri's mother dying hurt, and I feel bad for Miri. Curious how they'll round out the season to make it a happy ending.
