  1. lossing its a path a little bet lol dfq is that he poisoned hes brother , i think its not a little bet now he really is loss now lol

  2. I really really hope someone will knock some sense into Cannute. He lost any shred of love during his campaign in England. His "utopia" is just the same as other emperors that waged war against other nations and conquered them to expand their empires.

  3. I'm also afraid for ketil, he is visiting harald who have the island under his protection, but with all that is going on rn he might end up in a bad position since canute doesn't share the same vision as his brother. Also i still remember snake when he said that 50 warriors could take over the island if it wasn't under the kings protection. So who knows how things will go from here i don't really see einar and thorfin gaining their freedom so "easily".

  4. the curse of the crown is such an interesting concept to me. so many times people with too much power get corrupted but canute never seemed like someone who would fall for it. hes so different in this season

  5. Here's my simplistic view of what I got from this episode:-
    Thorfinn vs Canute
Similar goals; different, almost opposite means
Canute influenced by Sweyn & Askeladd
Thorfinn influenced by Thors & Askeladd
Thorfinn represents Askeladd's true side(hates violence & slavery) & Canute his dark side(ends justify means, any means necessary)

  6. Said it in the Canute episode, his underhanded tactics were unsettling, and it's proven here. His whole, "I will create paradise myself, I know what battles are good and worth your lives" Ideal was shaky to begin with. Seems egocentric and narcissistic. Always seems to me he was due for a corruption arc.

  7. The whole episode is actually a really fascinating parallel between Canute and Thorfinn. With each step, Thorfinn moves closer to freedom, while Canute moves further into becoming a slave of the crown.

Also, 4:04 Thorfinn has his father's eyes now.

  8. To be fair, the future is a huge unknown so who knows how Canute and Harald's relationship will turn out. Still, it's kind of fucked up that Canute killed him like that. The curse of the crown I guess

  9. canute's main goal is to create a utopia, not having power or greed, as he has said before, but to create it he needs power regardless of the means, he believes he is the savior of this world, remember his moment of revelation in s1! ! But now is the cursed head whit him…

  10. "the crown has its own will. It commands you to do but two things, to use power and to increase power". -King sweyn

  11. I find the last two phrases of Canute in this episode one of the highlights for me, i don't know it sounds really heavy, like the way how he pronounced it, the meaning behind two simple phrases , how it shows how much he's changed and gone completely insane .

  12. What I thought is "This is nothing" means the sorrow of killing his own brother was nothing according to Canute. However… the way they shot the scene when he said that portrays otherwise.

  13. Me who's growing my hair out and is watching Thorfinn's get longer by the episode. It looks so good!
Also it sucks that I was a ride or die for Canute but I can't respect what he did to his brother. Especially since they had a good relationship.

  14. Denmark and England are pretty big, but generally brothers splitting their fathers realm evenly after his death is a recipe for a loss of power and countless little duchies and kingdoms feuding with each other. Like when they traveled through Wales it said to have a hundred little kings. Splitting the realm could also incentivise further conquest so that a dynasty would not wither way.

  15. I mean, i they just take their freedom and leave the farm where teh hell would they go? Its not as if they ahve any money. They would starve to death if they dont find a job. Might as well keep working on the farm till they find something better to do. At least gather some money so they can leave and start their lives elsewhere. If they just emmidiately leave they would have nowhere to goal nor anything or anyone. When slavery was abolished that was a problem in our real world. Like, There is no more slavery but now what? WHat would the salves do? For good or for bad they still got to eat when they were slaves.

I heard some homeless people go to jail on purpose because there they can sleap in a "bed" and eat food for "free". Better then live on the streats.
So the Retainer job is not a bad idea for now

  16. Its good to remember that Canute's goal hasn't changed, in fact, he and Thorfinn share the absolute same goal now. Canute is still trying to create his paradise on earth in order to stop with god's trails and all wars. Harald was probably a military oriented person. He was bound to create war eventually. anyone that will promote violence needs to be taken down. as Canute said in episode 18 of last season: "There is no love in the hearts of men" so he will teach them how to embody love perfectly and not Wilibald's "discrimination". Him, Thorfinn and Thors and Askeladd are close to be in the same page. Details apart. To free the world from violence. He is Askeladd's antien hero. The one he and his mother were waiting all this time. He is not gonna betray Askeladd's dream.

  17. I personally think of the "necessity" of king harald's death was so that canute could try to abolish the system of two crowns as a whole. it wasn't that harald himself was the problem, but the position that he held. once harald and canute are out, there'd still be two crowns which could very much cause issues with new people wearing them–power struggles, wars, etc. so canute was trying to unite the kingdoms under one crown and set the standard for one crown in the future. at least that's what i think! it's hard for me to think of canute as being ONLY power hungry, though i guess that's a possible interpretation too!

  18. "……. But it's fiiiiine?" You hear how confident you sound? 😂😂😂 And, just a reminder, that Swyen also faced the same conundrum as Canute in Season 1; Denmark was split between supporting Canute or Harald, and his decision was the same as Canute: Kill one of them. Also, am I the only only who loves hearing Canue say "Haraldo"? It just sound so regal.
